MIDI is really music, like a wav or mp3. An MP3 is a compressed WAV. MIDI is a digital file that orders the sound card to play melodies.

THe only way you could do it is loop MIDI playback into a recorder that would record to wav...then convert to MP3.

There are a few programs out there that will do it, but most of them are expensive (Sonar), and not real intuitive.

why would you WANT to convert midi to mp3 in the first place? midi is just an elevator music version of the song. just about any midi song can be found in either wav or mp3 format... unless you composed it yourself. then i could see why. if you just want a particular song or portion thereof i would suggest just getting the song you want and converting to ringer with the kyocera ringer maker. if you want to edit then you'll need a conversion program like dbpower amp music converter and then a wav editor like audacity. just convert mp3 to wav then chop it up to what you like, then convert back to mp3, then use kyocera ringer maker to change it to .pdb.

Exclamation PM Martronixx

I think I remember Mark stating that he is a sound engineer, or something like that.

I might have a simple way to make the conversion.

He's one of the Mod's on the 7135 forum.

If you do a Google search for "midi to mp3" (including quotes), you'll find a number of utilities and tips.
