Ok. The subject line is a little misleading, but its a persistant problem.
A few days ago my battery died. I installed a fresh battery and I got this VERY loud BEEP BAW BEEP from my phone. The display was blacked out, but you could tell the power was on. I tried to reset, but kept getting the same thing. I contacted Kycera Support and got this message:
Hello,
Thank you for contacting Kyocera Wireless. I understand that the phone portion of your Kyocera 7135 SmartPhone will not power on.
Below, I have included basic troubleshooting steps for your issue.
I would like for you to perform a CRASH RESET on your phone.
This will reset the phone to factory settings. You will lose all of your information. Please HotSync before proceeding. How to Perform a Crash Reset:
1) Remove the battery from the phone
2) Press the reset button (located on the top right of where the battery was located)
[NOTE:] You may wish to place the battery in the secondary charger on the cradle to make sure it has a full charge; this can take up to four hours
3) Hold down the reset button for one minute [NOTE:] Before placing the battery back into the phone, please plug the AC power adapter directly into the bottom of the SmartPhone to see if the phone will power on.
4) Set the battery back in the phone
5) Perform the steps below to perform a Hard Reset
How Do I Perform a Hard Reset?
http://support.kyocera-wireless.com/...c/kyo1022.htm? 6) Please test your device, without performing a HotSync. If the issue does not persist, it may be software that is transferred to the phone during a HotSync causing the issue.
7) HotSync your SmartPhone to retrieve your information

Test the SmartPhone after performing a HotSync to see if the issue returns. If your issue is still unresolved, do not hesitate to contact us again. Please refer to case number: 132153, when responding.
I performed the "Crash" reset, and I had to keep persisting with the "Crash" reset (about two dozen times!) until I finally got it to power up with the Factory settings. Afterwards, I performed a "Hard" reset.
Everything seemed to go accordingly. Then I synced. The sync worked fine and when the phone was finished it displayed a message that said it now had to reset again. I pressed the reset icon, and now I'm back to square one.
Any help out there? I could sure use it. I've had my phone for a little over a year with little, to no problems. This looks bad.
