Forgive my newbie-ness, but I have a couple of simple questions that are going to take me an hour to get answered using the search and devour method

I want to do backups of my phone info. I don't really care about application data, since that's on my computer. Basically, I want to back up all my phone info (speed dial, voice dial, prefs, etc).

1. Is backup buddy the application of choice?

2. How large an SD card to I really need? I won't be doing MP3s (I have an iPod)?

3. Does the manufacturer and speed of the card really make a difference for my use?

At minimum you'd need a 32MB card. That will provide enough space for a full backup plus a copy of BackupBuddyVFS on the card itself. You'll want a card with excellent write speeds if you plan to backups during waking hours, especially if you use a lot of RAM or have large databases.

For example, using the VFSMark app (perform a search for more info) pay close attention to the times for DB Export, File Create, File Write and File Delete.
