How To Switch Phones?

I've decided to give my wife my old 6035. She current has a phone with Verizon. I would like to switch her service to the 6035. How do I do this on my own? Thanks!

Log onto your account at www.verizonwireless.com

There is an option there to change ESN's. Enter the ESN of the 6035. Then, from the phone, dial *228 and select option 1

What if the phone is a Sprint Kyocera 6035? Won't they need the field service code too?

Nope. This is the voice of experience talking. I've switched from Sprint to Verizon and Sprint has refused to provide the FSC for my phone....

....in spite of the fact that I bought it (Kyo 6035) for full retail price in April of 2000.
