Unhappy Why do I have to keep on setting the touch pad locations.

Hello- Just got the 7135, and I've had to set up the touch pad settings at least 30 times. ( You know, where you have to touch the targets in the corners with your stylus)

In fact, every time I tap the phone icon on the lower touchpad (upper right) , I am taken to "set-up" again. I'm going crazy. I can't find a master set-up option that will disable this feature, or where I can check what the "phone icon" is set to.

Any help out there??

Thanks!!!

Ben

more info

The process I am taken to is the same as the Welcome Application....

So basically, my phone icon on the bottom touchpad has become a welcome access icon.

Lucky me....

In the main application screen there is a choice called "Preferences PDA" and under that there is an option for "buttons".

Also, in the digitizer screen -- also listed under "Preferences PDA" there is an option not to continue to show the screen on resets.

It's fun getting to know this PDA. So many options, so little time.

Hope you're having fun.

This function will be set by a corrupt or previous Palm device setting. To verify it is removed: Hard Reset and remove the saved_prefs file from the Palm Backup folder. Or better yet, remove the whole backup folder to remove all previous Palm settings (network connections, etc.) These links will help you:

Hard Reset

To remove....

To remove the Digitizer set-up screen on every soft-reset:

Find the "Welcome" Program (Palm Side)

Go through all the stylus settings

When step 4 of 4 screen appears,
Make sure to tap on "Don't Show Again"

On the next "soft-reset" it will not display the digitizer set-up screen.

Hope this helps!

Touch screen resteting

Charge the batt for a long time, internal back-up will not fully charge until main batt is charged which seems to take forever, but once fully charged you'll be fine
