Developers, please help??

I had my first 7135 for a year, trouble free, until it started locking up and to the point where everytime I'd play ANY game using the hard buttons it'd lock up tighter than a drum. Software problem, right? Ok, well, hard resets didn't fix it, etc. so the guess is that one of my programs (I have very few by the way) wrote over a part of the ROM somehow. My first phone was NOT the newest software version. So, I have a new one (thanks Kyocera) and this one has the latest software (44/29) and I've slowly reloaded programs from scratch and have had absolutely zero problems. The last program I've tried to load is the program I suspected of giving me the problems, PacMan. Now when I use the hard buttons to move around, the Datebook hard button just goes to the datebook; it won't allow me to use that button to be used to move around in the game. Soooo, it helps in my original hypothesis of the ROM issue. Now, my real question is how hard is it to program the game to work correctly without damaging the phone again like on the original phone? I don't want to do it necessarily since I've never done any programming at all, let alone for the Palm OS, but I want to send a message to the maker of the program to see if they can do anything for me or give them any guidance on how to do it without damaging the phone again. The maker does not have a 7135; it's just a Palm game. I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but I really love this game on my phone and would like to have some sort of guidance for when the maker comes back and says they don't own the phone so have no idea of how to specifically correct this problem. Please help.

Brad

I'd say it's HIGHLY unlikely anything overwrote the ROM. This area of memory is extremely well protected by the OS from any sort of normal program activity. A program has to be specially written to access ROM (like JackFlash, etc).
