Oh NO! Phone service is "gone" (?)

I dropped the phone this morning. Minor drop - about two feet on to carpet (and it IS in a leather case) .. I heard a BEEP when it hit. With heart pounding, I opened it up and wandered through some apps...all appeared fine. Yay.

OK, this afternoon I went to make a call and I have no cell service all of a sudden! Can't make calls, can't receive calls, can't get on the web - says that there is no connection, yet I have full bars of "connectivity".

I tried a soft reset, tried restoring from my backup card, still nothing.

Any ideas? PUHLEASE have some ideas, I feel like I've lost my child.

Call Verizon

I'm not the expert on this forum, but I would say to call Verizon (are you on Verizon?) and re-set the number. It takes just a few minutes.

Hopefully they can get you set up and running again.

Good luck.

Thanks Barb,
I took your suggestion and called Verizon. They checked and said everything was ok with teh number and asked if the phone was dropped or exposed to water. I panicked and said no it wasn't...(and now I am going to hell for lying, I just KNOW it!), but she had me remove the battery and put it back in and that resolved the problem.

It ALSO wiped out ALL my data! Is that nromal? Should battery removal erase all data? I have a card backup, so I am restoring now...and grateful my baby is back in one piece...

::off to wrap in baby blanket and place in basinet::

Thanks for your help..
Kerry

Yes it is very normal for this phone that if you take the battery out for more than a few seconds.. it looses all its data. MUST back up!!!! Glad you did so... seems people get all bent out of shape about losing data but dont back up... lets remember it is still a computer that makes Windows look like the most stable OS in exsistance. Glad to hear the baby didnt suffer brain damage!
