Transfer mp3 files to Kyocera 7135 from iTunes

Can anyone out there talk me through downloading music from my Macintosh powerbook iTunes program to my Kyocera 7135, via the hotsnyc cradle? Is there a more efficient way load music into this phone?

There's no way to hotsync MP3s to the 7135 on a Mac. You need to get an SD card and a card reader, then copy the songs that you want onto the card (into a folder called "AUDIO").

I'm very disappointed with Kyocera's lack of Macintosh support for MP3s and custom ringers. I use my 7135 to connect my iBook to the internet nearly every day though, so at least they got the important stuff done right.

I purchased a 128mb SD card. Can you recommend a good card reader? Is it then simply a matter of dragging the music files onto the card? Also, is this the same way to load jpg's? Can I view jpgs in the PhotoSuite program that came in the 7135?

Hey Coolcat.......

About using your 7135 as a modem with your iBook.... Are you running Panther? Everything I've read says the Kyo USB drivers don't support Panther... Do I assume that Apple's drivers do the trick?

tuckeyr,

I'm using the same Kyo modem scripts in Panther that I used in Jaguar. I've used them in OS 9 on a Kanga too (though I had connection speed issues, haven't investigated that yet because it was just a "Hey, look what I can do" thing).

Robert,

As far as good card readers go, just get the cheapest one you can find, they all pretty much work the same. I see them for $10 and under all the time on dealmac.com. It really is as simple as dragging them to the card. They have to be in the right directory (I think its PALM/AUDIO). Pictures have to be in a DCIM directory, as if they'd been placed there by a digital camera. The app thats installed by default in the phone doesn't work for doing this (PhotoSuite), you have to install the one that is on the CD(PhotoView). I have Virtual PC, so I pulled the files I needed off the disc and hotsynced them. I even did a hotsync from inside windows once just to install some files.

Later,

Matt
