Scratch on Graffiti Screen

Sadly, I have a small 1/8" scratch in the middle on my 7135 Graffiti screen. It is Very Annoying.

Does anyone know how to repair this?

Thanks

Displex on ebay

Here is the product made for just such a thing. It polishes the plexiglass. I just ordered some for my 7135 as it has a small scratch on the big screen thats been bothering me since I got the phone (purchased used on ebay.. but its been an excellent unit)

Hope that helps!

Bill

Let us know how it works once you get it. I'm sure there's a lot of us out there with scratched displays.

I cut a screen protector to protect the graffiti area as well as the main screen. Something you might want to look into

I use the Blue package frosted (removable) Scotch Tape....I found it on this board...works great...all my clients use it...I would not put much hope into polishing it out...

Definitely............ oh, and there are lots of quality screen protectors out there (Strong Engineering comes to mind) that are made specifically for the 7135. So, unless you're really a "do it yourself" kind of person, you might want to go that route

When my Kyocera 6035 had a run in with the trunk of my Volkswagen Jetta I had to get a replacement screen. It cost about $150.00 CDN, don't know if replacement screens are available for the 7135...but if they are I would think the price would be the same...

BTW - I never place my 7135 anywhere except my belt clip, don't want a repeat performance

Polish? I think the screen is a bit more involved since it is not simply a LCD but a touch screen as well. On top of the glass? plexiglass? LCD there is the touch screen component which I have always assumed to be a wire grid imbedded in soft plastic material.

If the scratch is cosmetic and only in the surface of the touchscreen material then polish and/or fillers might do the trick. If its deeper, going through the touchscreen material and possibly even scratching the LCD then it might not be repairable. I will assume you are speaking of a cosmetic scratch.

GREAT NEWS! I bought the Displex and applied it to the scratch on my graffiti screen. The first application did not quite remove the scratch so I followed directions and reapplied it. The third application did the trick. I now have a perfectly clean screen. I highly recommend applying the recommended tape around the graffiti screen area to protect the adjacent surfaces.

Thanks for recommending this to me.
