Kyocera 7135 comes back, will there be an option or possibly any way to flash the new Palm operating system onto it??
I'm new to the forum and am waiting impatiently for it to come back from the battery problems...
I also have a couple questions:
1. Does anyone have any CONCRETE ideas of when its supposed to come back into service(the Date) would really help me out since im thinking about jumping ship if it doesnt come out soon enough (HotSync?)???
2. Did anyone ever buy the Add-on camera for the 7135, and if so would you share as to how nice the quality of the pics are and if its worth buying, as well as if it eats alot of memory while useing it???
Well you can order them on some websites.. not official Verizon though.. and if you search the posts on here.. that date is unknown. If you ask two different VZ employees you will get two different answers. If you must purchase through VZ, I wouldnt hold your breath. I actually got mine on ebay and it has been a great phone. No problems (knock on wood) and seems pretty stable.

The 7135 will always be stuck on a 4.x operating system. OS5 and 6 require a different processor then our beloved 7135's.
I don't think anyone has a concrete date on the return of the 7135. My guess is that it will be within the month.
There are a lot of discussions of the Veo camera. I have one that I traded with another board member for some consulting. I wouldn't have paid full retail for it, it is not very good. It takes OK pictures in bright light, although the color is always a little off (doesn't seem to pick up much red). In lower light, it is not good at all.
At 320x240 resolution, each picture takes 50kb of memory
At 640x480, each picture takes 200kb of memory.
If you search the board for veo* you will see more comments and some sample pictures (you will need the * in your search since the search engine won't search for 3 letter words).
I have the 6035 (and keyboard), and have had to replace it 9 times, before my father (i'm a college student) went in and complained. Pretty pathetic. But, finally found a helpful verizon rep, who said I could upgrade to the 7135...of course that was during the battery problem and they showed me the Samsung but I wasn't impressed. They said I could wait and as soon as they got them back I could come into any Verizon store and pick up my free upgrade.
I've been keeping up with the posts here and finally today called my verizon store here in Bloomington, IN they get shipment on Thursday and expect new phones/batteries!! I look forward to using my 7135 by Friday!
Thanks for all your help! I am hooked, and will keep coming back!
For those who might not have read about the re-release of the 7135, it was re-released offically through Verizon on March 1st. I ordered mine on that day and can hardly wait to receive it.

Not here in CT. But, good to hear they're finally coming out again.
