Exclamation Data Roaming

I searched around for an answer to this but found none.
My 7135 is on Telus in Canada, I will be in LA next week, I know from experience that I will have voice service but I don't know if my 1X or QNC will work.
I called Telus to find out and the tech I talked to told that it may work (Verizon) or may not.
But he had an important warning for me, because all the carriers have not yet hashed out roaming agreements for their data plans if I did connect I might recieve some huge charge!
He told me of one case where a Telus customer was charged $225.00 just to connect once!
If anyone has any info on this I would appreciate it.
Thanks

only thing I can add at this stage is that I had the same question, and even sent an email to Verizon, but got no response whatsoever (about 3 weeks ago)...

I've been told in my country though, that I can come in to any Verizon "stand" and purchase a card for a certain period of time, and get the cheapet prices...

Please fill me in when you know something better?

Thanks!

I had this experience in November. I'm also a Telus Mobility user and went to Scottsdale and did not have data access. I even tried the slow qnc conncetion and couldn't connect. Apparently that was a good thing as I phoned the company that sold me the phone and they gave me the same story that if you do get a data connection it be very expensive. I've emailed Telus to see when they will have a data roaming agreement - they wouldn't say.

Hopefully people keep complaining and we get an agreement. I'll be in the US at least 6 times for a week at a time this year and I want/need my data!

Well that was a long time between posts! Anway, as most Telus users probably already know there is now a data agreement for use in the US - I was text messaged by Telus on May 6th.
Cheers
