To NOT Hotsynch Contacts to Outlook

Hi, I really like the way the Kyocera hotsynchs with Outlook...but I want my Outlook Contacts from my PC and my phone list/contacts on the phone to be different. I know that I can change the Chapura setting to say NEVER hotsynch the contacts but I WOULD like it to hotsynch to the Palm 7135 desktop "front end". Is there a way to get it to do that?

When you first install Chapura, it asks which thngs you want to synch with Outlook. I have mine set for Calendar only. I think to reset yours, you need to uninstall Chapura, and then re-install it selecting only the outlook items you want. I don't think there is a way to change it once it is installed, but you might want to wait for a few more responses to see if someone else knows how to remove just the individual conduits.

I think you can change it in Chapura pocketmirror settings. I don't have chapura installed right now, though, so I can't check it. I think you highlight the Contacts or Address line and push the "Change" or "Edit" button. Should pull up a bunch of different preferences settings. I believe one of them is Hotsync.

From Chapura's FAQ for PocketMirror:

Q. How do I synchronize some of my handheld data with the Palm Desktop (i.e. Palm Desktop Datebook) while simultaneously syncing some of my handheld data with Microsoft Outlook (i.e. Outlook Contacts)?

A. To install ONLY some of the PocketMirror Conduits, and also some of the Palm Desktop Conduits please do the following.

Note: You cannot synchronize the same type of data to the Palm Desktop while also synchronize it to Outlook. For example, you CANNOT sync Outlook Calendar and the Palm Desktop Datebook. But you CAN sync Outlook Calendar and the Palm Desktop Addressbook or Outlook Contacts and the Palm Desktop Todo list, etc.
Click on the HotSync Manager icon (circular red/blue arrows on the bottom right of your PC screen, see image.) and click "Exit" and click "Yes" if prompted to confirm. Note: The HotSync Manager icon may be hidden on Windows XP, please click the round white arrow button (see image) to unhide the icon.

Uninstall PocketMirror by clicking "Start/ Programs/PocketMirror/Uninstall PocketMirror".

Run the Installation for PocketMirror directly from your Palm Software CD by:

Place the handheld installation CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive.
Exit the Installation screen if it auto starts.
On your PC click "Start/Run/Browse".
Go to the CD-ROM drive and run PocketMirror setup by going to "Palmsfw\disk1\pocketmirror" or "Palm Desktop\Pocket Mirror" or "software installation\Outlook conduits" and double click on 'setup.exe'.

During installation you will be asked which conduits to install.

When prompted UNCHECK any conduits you DO NOT wish to synchronize with Outlook.
When installation is complete, start the HotSync Manager by clicking on "Start/Programs/Palm Desktop/HotSync Manager".
Once the HotSync Manager is loaded, click on the HotSync Manager icon/Custom, you should see one or more of the Palm conduit(s) for the Datebook, Addressbook, ToDo List and/or Memo List in place of the Outlook conduit(s) (Outlook Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and/or Notes).
