Shut phone to disconnect call

I can not for the life of me find the setting that will enable me to shut the phone and have it disconnect my call. Can someone point me that way? I want to be able to "hangup" when I am done with the call, by simply shutting the phone. I DON'T want it to do that of course when the headset is in...
Suggestions?
My old verizon phone did this just fine.

Send a message via AIM to skicheer12

should happen without any special settings, as long as the headset is not plugged in.

Hmm.
Maybe my headset was plugged in.
I must be losing my mind.

I'll have to test it.

Don't have my phone in front of me - if i remember correctly you go to Phone Prefs, then tap the top rt corner of the screen and a drop down list appears. Go to flip settings and set it to turn off when closed.

I think the setting you mean is the go to phone app when you open the flip. I don't think we can choose to NOT turn off the phone when we close the flip. Unless the headset is plugged in as stated above.
