Question Best way to transfer large text blocks?

Can someone suggest the best way to transfer large chunks of text from a PC to my 7135?

At work we are prohibited from using our PC's for personal email accounts - no accessing web mail servers, no downloading personal mail, no loading email apps like Eudora on our company computers. I've gotten my 7135 all set up to send/receive email (thanks to all who suggested Fastmail.FM - I love it!) but I don't have the foldup keyboard (yet!) and if I can I'd like to be able to take advantage of the larger PC monitor.

I've tried hotsynching a memo to cut & paste, but the message was too large. I was able to transfer text in an Outlook calendar entry (creative, aren't I?) but it took 3 or 4 'cut & paste' operations to get it all into a Eudora message.

I'm sure I'm missing something simple... Maybe an inexpensive app I can buy? I figure if no one here knows how to do it, it can't be done.

Thanks!

-Karyl

I think there is a memo program out there that allows for larger memos. Try a quick search on Palmgear or Handango.

peditPro and pedit32 allow 32KB memos. You can find them on PalmGear.com. I believe the standard clipboard size on PalmOS is 1 KB. So, you may also need to expand the clipboard size on your device in order to do the cutting and pasting from memos to Emails. I use LapTopHack to expand the clipboard size on my 7135 to 32KB.

There's also a program called Clipper, but I've never used it. Just letting you know it's there if you want to give it a whirl.

Thanks for the hints - it never occurred to me that I could change the clipboard size. Is it possible to do this at all with the 'standard' apps, or do I need to get the LapTopHack?

transferring large text blocks

Our 's came with quickoffice.

You could use it to transfer large amounts of text as a document.

Give it a try.

Clipper works great for cutting and pasting large blocks of text. You can find it at www.standalone.com

Clipper

I couldn't get Clipper to work with Snappermail. When I contacted the developer I was told that Clipper does not support some third party apps.
