I am in Albany, Georgia and am having problems connecting through QNC. I can not connect through EIS or Eudora. This actually started back in October. I have been to our locall Alltel office several times and have spent multiple hours on the phone with Kyocera and Alltel Wireless Tech Support. Is anyone else having any sort of problem like this? Help Please!!!
to be more specific... it says "authentication failure". No one can seem to tell me what is wrong with my phone and why I can not connect to the internet via the phone. Kyocera tells me it is Alltel's problem, Alltel tells me "I don't know"... Personally, I think it is something that Alltel has changed with the towers around here for their new push-to-talk system. Does anyone have any suggestions. It is like I told the rep at Alltell, "if I wanted a phone just to talk on, I could have spent 99-cents". The last time I connected via my phone was 10/18/03....
try this..
of course back up your phone before doing anything.
pda prefs > network
be sure qnc is listed under service
details > script > change last number in the top string to a 2 instead of a 3 so it reads at$qcmdr=2
ok out of that and try to connect
Thanks for the reply, although I have done this I don't know how many times, I tried it once again, it still says "Error: authentication failure (0x1233)... In looking at my last alltel bill there were 27, 1 minute connections in me trying to connect. Alltel gave me another phone on Dec. 10 (they thought that would solve the problem), but the minute they handed it to me after setting it up, I hit the internet key... and ... boom... the same thing. I am really getting fustrated with them, not to mention that I sent my branch manager a letter yesterday letting him know exactly how I felt and that something needed to be done immediately. I didn't register to this forum until tonight just seeking further help, but have been reading the forum for about 5 months. The first time I went to Alltel, I suggested maybe the phone needed to be flashed and could they do it... well, they had to order the cables to do so... went back a couple of weeks later, they had one cable but not the other as they couldn't order the other part that they needed until after the first of the year "because it wasn't in there budget"... Go figure.
Thanks for your advise and anymore that you can think of I am willing to try it.
Yes, I have had the Kyocera 7135 when Alltel only had 2 in store, I think it was last February when I got it. Everytime I talk to Alltel, they tell me everything is fine on their end and they can''t understand why I can not connect.
