I am about to sell my Thera and I am shopping for a 7135. i see a lot of posting with problems with the 7135... is it still the best pda phone out there or should i shop for something else?
I still recommend it. Highly. But, I do tell people that it can have some hiccups and let them know about this forum. I have had some issues previously, but I was doing a lot of installing and uninstalling and now that I've settled a bit more I have a very stable phone. I know about the Treo 600, but I would still go with the 7135.

I would also recommend it, especially if you have been reading the forums here so you know some of the issues up front. But it also depends on what you are looking for. For me three things are important:
* clamshell
* speakerphone
* sd card support
The Samsung i500 is very similar except for the sd card and speakerphone. The benefit is size.
Also remember people tend to post with problems more than with happy posts! And we are all trying to get a lot of software to play nice in addition to the phone/palm.
I would also recommend the 7135. Spending more time on this board now that it has merged, it seems most of these pda/phones have issues of one sort or another. I have had my phone for almost a year now and my big worry is, if it crapped out today, I couldn't get another one until this battery problem is solved. I would go back to my 6035 and use it until thye the 7135 came back or something else new came on the market.
thank you so very much for all your answers! now, another questions... what is this battery story with the 7135? and why is it off the Verizon's web page??? did they discontinue it? would it be impossible to get support from Verizon? hey, i might have to rely on you guys!!! hehehe! thanks again for your help! it is very much appreciated! and sorry for the many inquiries!
Even after looking into the new samsungs that are supposed to be coming out, I think this phone still has em all beat (and I always gotta have the coolest and best, so if there were anything I'd have switched).
Battery, I can go 3 days w/o a charge on normal use. Heavy use I can go a day and a half (hour or 2 on phone, mp3 use, heavy gaming).
Just look around here on the recall, its no big issue, just somone being ultra conservative. I have never used vzw for phone support, so even if they did cancel support, you'd be alright. It's pretty solid, and with the expertise here, you're covered.
There's a thread with info on the battery issue. Someone reported in the past couple of days that Kyocera tech support told him the replacement batteries had been shipped to the vendors for testing. My only concern with support would be if something happened to my phone and Verizon didn't have any replacements for it. I don't want to get some crappy PPC phone as an "equivalent" replacement.
If you're concerned about that I would just keep an eye on the battery recall thread and give it a couple of weeks to see how things go.
