A Little Off-Topic: Cardscan

Hi guys,
Does any of you familiar and has been using
Cardscan ?

I have a lot (a few hundreds) business cards in my office.
I wanted to be able to OCR-scan them, and inport to Outlook's contacts (and to sync them to the 7135 of course).

I found this scanner, which supports (see link) in all Palm versions, so I suppose it's compatible with the 7135 as well.

Does anyone have any experience with it?

BTW, one cool feature it hase, is: it scans the card from both sides (in one go), and add the image file to its address application. I wondered whether it add the image to Outlook as well?

And how all this work with the 7135?

Thanks!
Machek

I'd like to focus my question:

Does anyone know of an app that will enable me to add images (the person's photo, an image of his business card, etc) in the adress book application?

Thanks!

You need Address Album, where you can add a photo to your address book.

Thanks, although "... Address Album only works if you HotSync with the standard Palm Desktop ..." (and not Outlook)

I would think that future versions of PocketMirror Pro and Intellisync would support photos, since Outlook 2003 now can include a photo. Doesn't help us now, though.

I've used Card Scan for the Palm V. It was great for a large stack of cards and does a decent job of reading the information and putting numbers fields in the right place.

My issue was that I still had to double check everything carefully to ensure that nothing was missed. This made it more useful for a large stack, but the time spent for just one card isn't that long, and it is easier just to type them in when I get them now (a few a week).

If you get a ton of business cards all the time, this device will work well. If you're an occational user, you may not want to spend the money.

I think I still have mine in the basement. Do you want to buy it cheap ?

Thanks, Shea_P.
Since I work in a company, I don't think we are able to purchase from a private person, without the receipt, VAT etc....
Thanks anyeay.
