Fitaly v. MessagEase

Well, I've tried them both. I was with MessagEase for about a month, then decided to try Fitaly about three weeks ago. I think I'll switch back to MessagEase.

I like the layout of Fitaly. It's a good, clean screen. However, my accuracy isn't as good. The letters are soooooooooooooo small. I have trouble seeing it in low light.

With MesssagEase, I think the layout just made sense to my brain, because it seemed to come easier. Plus MessagEase has the program that lets you input directly into the screen, so I can use it in the dark also.

Anyone else have comments on one versus the other?

Barbara

MessageEase

I'm with you. I'm staying with MessageEase stamp.

It's easier for me to use. I also downloaded the keyboard replacement file (messageease KB) so I can tap the keyboard icon and type when it's too dark to see.

The ability to store multiple texts and paste what i want where i want it is very helpful also.

It all really comes down to what each person is comfortable with. Both have strengths and everyone should try both and make their decision.

I made mine for MessageEase.

...and here I thought I was the only geek that took the time and effort to really become familiar with MessagEase. That said, I'm sticking with FitalyStamp (for now) (as most of my friends know, I don't stick with anything for very long...except wives). I've decided to stick with FitalyStamp because I'm able to type lot faster with it.

Wives? How do you stick with more than one?

Hi Barbara,

Do you have vision problems by any chance? (as you might surmise, I'm an eye doctor). For me, the letters on the FitalyStamp are quite visible and, even in low light situations, I find the stamp easier to use than the MessagEase stamp. With the MessagEase stamp, you have to be EXTREMELY familair with the letter placements to use it at all under low lighting conditions, and, while I was pretty good with MessagEase, there were a few letters I would seem to have difficulty remembering, and it would really slow me down when the lighting was low.

Fitaly vs. Message Ease

I tried Message Ease for about a month and then switched to Fitaly. I am finding I like the Fitaly keyboard layout better. The buttons are large and discreet for each letter. I constantly had to fix my letter entries with Message Ease and making CAPS was hit and miss. I doubt I will ever get the 50 WPM with either program, but I think I will be faster with Fitaly over time.

Hi Dave,

How did you guess? I had lasik surgery about two months ago. Still have a bit of trouble seeing leeeeetle letters.

I don't know why I have trouble seeing the Fitaly stamp. I think it might be that my hand covers some of the letters. Maybe I'll keep trying it for awhile. Do you get used to where the letters are after awhile?

Barb

Sure! After a while it should be just like touch-typing on a qwerty keyboard.
