Kyo 7135 w/ US Cell - want to switch to VZN

I have a 7135 that I bought from US Cellular (Wisconsin). they have not lit up any network services yet - so I would like to drop them and move to Verizon.

Verizon has told me that they need the phone unlocked (presumably the service code?) in order to convert it...

How can I get it without US Cell's help - they have already told me that I cannot have it - and that they wont give it to Verizon...

Any help would be appreciated!

is that different from the "000000" code that gets you into the phones programming menus from the phone app?

good luck,

000000 is the default SPC, but I believe US Cellular (and I know SprintPCS) change the SPC's from the default to prevent users from programming their own phones and moving the phones to other carriers. This is one of the reasons I have always been a Verizon customer. VZW and Alltell leave the SPC's as default.

If you run into a civil sales person in a USCC store, they can look it up on their computer. A data person through customer service (CS) gave me mine, presumably because I paid full retail. I was never nasty with anyone. If they hadn't easily yielded, I was on the way to see my lawyer. Try calling CS again; jess don' be 'splaining why.

Heard that....

I have been told that USCC will be offering Network services in the first Q of 2004. I should happen when they start to offer PC cards for laptop access. There are a lot of "big wigs" in USCC that have 7135's & therefore are pushing for network access. I guess they wanted to get the cash cow Easy Edge going since it works on most of their phones. I am waiting for the network services to begin....I have been very happen with US Cellular service, my only beef is that they are not on the cutting edge of technology.

Yes, USCC will be offering data along with new plans for the 7135 in Q1 2004. You can try calling a CSR and asking to have your current plan add EasyEdge service. They might do it for you.

Your phone should be preconfigured to get on the network but if it is not then you need set it up to dial #777
Your username will be phonenumber@uscc.net and your password will be phonenumber.

Thanks for all the advice!

I have contacted Kyocera - and they will erase all traces of US Cellular and return the phone to me. It is a bit of a hassle - but as least I get to keep using the phone...

I should be on VZW soon!

Thanks again

Hey, dil. I am thinking of getting a US Cellular 7135. Did Kyro give you a hassle about it or where they real cool? Just need a heads up if I get this thing, thanks.
