ring tones, pictures, voice dialing, speaker phone

Question 1:

I want ot change to ringtones to a MP3 i choose. i have made the MP3 ringer and have the .pdb file. I have installed it on the phone (i think) but can not find it in my ring tone selections. anybody know what direction i need to go now?

Question 2:

I want to put a picture on my main screen when the phone is open, how do i do this? I have pictures in my phone that are in the photSuite albums, how do i get ito to show when i flip the phone open? and has anybody found a program that allows for the callers picture to show up?

Question 3:

When it comes to speed dialing and voice dialing it seems the only way to use them is to go into the PDA and select those perticular programs then use them. this seems really odd since my girlfriends 50 dollar phone has a button you press then say the name to voice dial. sometimes it seems alot smarter than my 500 dollar "smart phone". is there a wat to just press a button and say a name , or a key sequence to speed dial?

Question 4:

When using the speaker phone i have found sometimes that i can close the phone and still have the speaker phone work. Though sometimes if i close the phone while in speaker phone mode it just ends the call. Is there something im not knowing im doning part of the time to make it work with the phone closed?

Thanks for the help.

Cesar

question 3
Use the PDA to train a specific voice command for a given number. Then just press the send button (that's the green one), wait second, and you'll hear a beep. Say the name that you trained and you are done. Sometimes the phone will prompt you, "Say a name" etc. For speed dial it pretty much works like any other phone, except that you use the PDA Speed dial app to make the assignments. Once they are made, then just press the assigned button and hit send.

Open up the Speed Dial app. Tap "Add"
It will prompt you to either enter a number or lookup one in your address book. Assign the number this way. Then, to use, with the phone screen active (you can press the red button to quickly navigate to it), press the number that you assigned then the green button. C'est tout.

1. Did you use the Kyocera program? Did you select "ringer" as the type? And are you sure it is installed? I think you have to keep the names short, too.

2. No you cannot with the default software. I believe there is a backdrop or background program that let's you change the backgroun even in the phone app.

3. I think you have enough answers here

4. I believe the speakerphone will continue to work after closing the flip if a) you are quick to close it after dialing or b) you have the phone set to fax. Don't quote me on that last one, just going from memory from an old post about the speakerphone.

Someone said with regard to the speed dial feature: 'to use (speed dial), with the phone screen active (you can press the red button to quickly navigate to it), press the number that you assigned then the green button.'

It is also possible while in phone mode to simply press and hold the number button you assigned for about 2 seconds. This will dial the number, there is no need to hit the green button.

2. The program to put a picture on your main screen is called BackDrop GC.
There is no Picture Call Display yet . . . but I am working on it.

Once you follow all the directions in the FAQ I referenced above, the ringers will be in your ringer list, but you need to scroll to the bottom of the list. They will appear in alphabetical order AFTER all of the included ringers.

I would go to the files section on this site and download one of the ringers from there. If it works on your phone, you need to change something about the way you are creating the ringer (too large of a file, codec problem, etc..)

The Backdrop program only works with some of the launchers. I tried to get it to work on Launcher x and had no luck. I have it installed with Silverscreen and it works with version 2.9.9, however it would not work with their newest version. I sent both Silverscreen and Backdrop an email about the problem but I never heard back from either one of them.
Therefore, I had to re-load 2.9.9. I also have launcherx on my phone for moving and running programs from the SD card. But I personally like the backdrop so I keep Silverscreen up about 95% of the time.

You have to do a soft reset before the ringtone shows up in your ringer list.
