Is there a Palm app that can be used to program the IR port on the Kyocera 7135 to enable and disable the alarm in your car? Instead of using the alarm remote keychain.

You could possibly do something like that!?
The 7135's output is Infrared.
The keychain's output is Radio Frequency.

You would have to get with the car alarm people, have them design an IR receiver for their alarm system. Then just use one of the Learning Remote Control programs for the Palm system. You would have to be about 10 feet from the receiver. And you would have to hit the car alarm receiver directly, (line-of-site).

Sounds like way too much trouble.

i think the Ir port on the 7135 is too weak.. you would have to be more like 3 feet from the sensor for this to possibly work...

some car alarms do use Ir though.... (factory)

omniremote seems to have increased the effective distance of the remote to something like 15' for me

IR Remotes on Mercedes Benzes change the frequency code after every unlock/lock cycle. Only very old MB (+10 yr) and other brands might have fixed IR systems.
