For your reference: The computer is an iBook running OSX with two "users," my home account and my work account.

I've been having trouble charging my phone using the true USB cable. Hotsyncing seems to work fine (so long as I'm logged into my home account; I can change things in the Palm Desktop while in my work account as I've got an alias to the file in my work user folder to the file in my home user folder), and the first time I attempted to charge and Hotsync the phone (both the first time at all and the first time using my laptop and true USB cable) both worked fine. I still seem to be able to charge my phone just fine using the cradle and my desktop at home.

I figured that perhaps the true USB cable wasn't being registered by my laptop, but that doesn't seem to be the case as it will hotsync and not charge.

The true USB data cable does not charge the 7135 from the USB port. It needs a power supply connected. There is a jack on it for plugging in the charger. Have you connected a charger (i.e. power supply for the cradle) to the big, rectangular part of the true USB data cable???
