Key Pad Tones

Okay, I had my phone go whacky on me the other day. Could not get it to dial out. Everything else worked fine.

Took it into Verizon who really didn't have a clue either but suggested that we update the S/W? I was shocked. I had as recently as 2 weeks earlier asked about it and got the usual "we don;t have the right cable, blah blah blah stuff".

Anyway, I said sure lets update them both. (phone and PDA side) but I was doubtful that this was the isse. It seem weird that the phone side worked fine up to this point and that now there was software issues.

but.....I was wrong. It works now and at the least whatever stopped it from dialing out was fixed with the new software.

The issue is that when this was done I was left with this real weinery sound for the keypad clicks. Not tones but the clicks are now are very muted. Increaseing the volume on them doesn't help either. It seems that when the software updated it either changed or goofed up the key pad sounds.

Anyone else have this?

Any ideas on how to change, improve the sound?

I had a similiar problem with my keys not working with voicemail. I couldn't get into the voicemail system by pushing the # key. I tried all sorts of things and was just about ready to call verizon when the phone locked up. I had to use the reset switch next to the battery, when it came back up everything was working fine....

Okay, enough of me rambling...just thought I'd throw that out...

I had this same problem in the last couple of weeks; actually a few times. I 'solved' it by turning the phone off/on a few times.

p.s. I also have Verizon.
