I was wondering if anyone has had this problem, and if there's a solution:
Sometimes when I open the flip, push a button on the phone, or tap something, I get no response for approximately 30 seconds. Then, it responds to my previous button push or tap.
It's annoying, and I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts. Thanks.
My first phone crashed constantly (received in February). I sent it back to Kyocera and received a replacement which has been very stable since. I performed the upgrade a couple weeks ago and have noticed increased system instability and pausing. It doesn't crash as much as my first phone (I haven't had any BSD's) and most crashes recover from a soft reset; I believe I've had 2 hard resets.

my february 18 alltel was very stable with one or two hard resets through 9/12/03 I upgraded on 9/13 and have required 2 soft resets since then to recover from a white screen after tapping on the home insignia from the phone. Is the white screen the BSD? or is it merely going to occur in a short time ?
My previous firmware had the same delay problems as you described...
When I upgraded, the delays went away. But after a few weeks, the delays (and occasionally 'flaky-ness') have mysteriously returned. I have added nothing new to my 7135 since the upgrade, so I'm stumped as to what could be causing this gradual erosion in performance. Seems (for me anyway) that the new firmware has cut down on the really nasty and persistent crashes, but there are definitely some performance issues that are not yet ironed out in the new firmware.

This happens to my 7135 also. My guess is that there's a slow "leak" (or "accumulation") of some resource. If you soft-reset the phone, things should get better for a few weeks.
I too have this problem. I may be wrong, but I've always attributed the problem to whenever the phone loses signal for a moment. Try to notice whether the led is on or not when you experience the problem. (you could have the phone beep on signal loss, but the number of beeps you would get is quite annoying) Even during use of the pda side, if the phone loses signal for a moment, it really puts a delay in the response of the pda. Whenever I'm in the basement with the phone, the problem seems to be more predominant. Elsewhere, (where there is better signal, the problem is lessened.
When you get a soft reset and do the digitizer re-init, I believe there is a check box for "do not show again" ...clicking on that removes the need to do a re-init after a soft reset.
Clicking topleft brings the bottom right, clicking the bottom right, BACK I am to the topleft test, clicking it goes to the bottomright test again.... In a LOOP!!!!
