Hi,

I can't highlight a number and tap the phone icon to dial the number. When I tap the phone icon it only brings up the phone app. Any ideas?

press your green phn button not the phn app button. dont know if thats what you mean.

I do not know if that is what the original poster wanted. But I just successfully tried it and think that is way cool!

When I highlight a number and press the green button, it only switches to the phone app. The same is true of the phone silk screen button.

I know what should happen, it just isn't. I'm hoping someone else has seen this as well and knows of a solution.

If you are in the Address Book (main screen that lists all your contacts),
you can just tap the number without highlighting and it will dial.

If you are inside an Address Book record, you can highlight the number
and then push the green send button OR the Phone App icon.

If you are in the Recent Calls list then you can only push the green Send button to dial.
That's how my phone works anyway.

What App are you within where you are highlighting a number?

My phone is picky. Sometimes I can use the up and down arrows to pick the contact I want to call (either down to the contact to call the default number, or in the record to pick the specific number), hit the Green call button, and call that number. The last time I needed to use it, it just went to the phone app and didn't dial the number. When I just tried it now, it worked. It seems to go back and forth.

Any app that lets you highlight a phone number, URL, or e-mail address. You should just be able to press the green phone button. I can't.
