MP3 Downloads taking too long

Is there a way to speed up the download of MP3 files into my phone. I have it hooked up via USB but it just seems to be painfully slow when I download any MP3s. The Connection is set to the MAX setting of 240k.

Thanks,

Unfortunately not. Most people who want to move files quickly into the phone end up buying an SD card reader of some type and copying files directly to the SD card from that device instead of using the phone/cradle setup. It is much much faster than relying on the cradle connection for data transfer.

I take it, you can pop the files into any folder on the SD card if you do that?

Yes, but they won't work from any folder. For the built-in MP3 player, you have to put them in a directory called "Audio" that is in the root directory of the card. For example, if the card's drive letter is S:, then the directory for the MP3's would be S:Audio

The third-party MP3 player called Bebopper (http://www.belltools.com) has some support for sub-directories under the Audio directory.

With the base player, you also have to delete the playlist file after you make any changes. I don't know if that is true with BeBopper.
