Cutting the Stereo Headset

I want an ear piece with a answer/hangup button on the cord. The stereo headset has one but also has (naturally) two ear buds. I'm thinking of cutting off the ear bud that does not have the button. Anybody have an opinion on whether it will still function as a single ear bud with button?

Yes, it will still work. Instead of cutting the stereo headset though, why don't you just get the mono headset?

As I understand it, the mono headset has a mute button, but not an answer/hangup button. Do you know if this is correct?

I have a Motorola mono earbud with a "one-touch" to hang-up, etc...

Now the FM tuner adapter I have is in stereo (for the T-720) but it also has a one touch feature integrated. When I use the headset in a call it's only on the left side.

Basically, I'm not sure if anyone makes a headset that you can hear a caller (when on the phone) in stereo, is there?
