I didn't do any searches on SFS but I seem to remember users not being able to send yahoo. I think Yahoo wants you to pay for the service.

You may try searching this board or on Yahoo.

I had it working on my 6035 before Yahoo started charging for POP access. I still have the settings, which worked before. But no guarantees now.

Here are they are:

BASIC TAB
Return Address:
your-yahoo-id@yahoo.com

Username:
your-yahoo-id

Incoming server:
pop.mail.yahoo.com

Outgoing server:
smtp.mail.yahoo.com

You may want to set your name on the Send tab, but I think the rest of the settings you can leave as the defaults.

The other thing I seem to remember is that you should always use Send & Check Mail, even if you're only sending or only checking. Otherwise, it won't send your password and you may not get properly logged on. I guess you can just try that for yourself and see if it works.

Hope that helps.

You can use the free Yahoo mail for incoming mail and set up a free Verizon Airbridge account for outgoing mail. That's what I was doing until I decided to spring for a paid Yahoo account so that I could send and receive attachments (with Snappermail), (and for some other non-7135 related reasons.)

Free Yahoo POP3 Access

I ran across this website awhile back that might be of interest to some of you with Yahoo! mail.

http://yahoopops.sourceforge.net/

This is the description from the website:
Quote:
YahooPOPs! is an application which emulates a POP3/SMTP mail server and provides free POP3 and SMTP access to Yahoo! Mail. It does not depend on Yahoo's POP3/SMTP mail server. You can use a mail client of your choice!
I did a little checking and heard generally good things about it. However, since my Yahoo mail account is generally a spam catcher, I have not tried it personally. I would be interested to hear any comments from those that try it.

So you can receive mail okay, but not send? Did you try using "Send & Check Mail"?

Here are the settings I had for the Security tab. They might be important.

Incoming POP:
Authentication - Best Available
Security (SSL) - None

Outgoing (SMTP):
Authentication - Best Available
- Same As Incoming
Security (SSL) - None

How do I get to Yahoo mail easily?

I've searched the threads but still cannot get into my Yahoo mail easily. I have the Yahoo PQA but it's annoying to have to sign in every time. Is there a PQA that is one-click away from my email or do I need to get something like Snapper mail?

Yahoo Mail

I found a simple way using the EIS browser-
Bookmark "http://wap.oa.yahoo.com/"

You need to sign in everytime. Does anybody know an easier way?

The only other way to get in simpler is to subscribe to Yahoo MailPlus and download with Eudora or SnapperMail...

I'm happy to subscribe to Yahoo forwarding but what address does it forward to? I could have it forwarded to my vtext and then access it as needed but I'd still have to go through the sign-in hassle.

You enter what address you want it forwarded to, but vtext probably has too small a message limitation to be useful. You're probably better off using Eudora Mail or SnapperMail. They keep the user id and password recorded, so you don't have to enter that info every time...

The first time you start Eudora it should start the Account wizard and walk you through all of the settings. If it doesn't, go to the menu, choose Options, and select New Account. Just plug all the settings in for you Yahoo mail account (you'll find them on the Yahoo Options page) and away you go...

No Yahoo mail!

I am very disappointed in my 7135. I can't get on Yahoo mail (very important to me) with EudoraWeb and using EIS is slower than hell. Is there anything I can do about this?
Is there a software somehwere I can download that will give me better speed, and graphics--and Yahoo mail access?

Thanks.
