Are you starting to feel kinda lonely in this thread Greg?

This is Rick Whitt's DA pqa? If so, yes, I've tried it and it's great. But I have been too lazy to set up my Treo to use pqa's yet... so I forget how some of it works. Somebody should come to your rescue........ someday!

Program

Yes its Rick's and he just emailed and said that he doesnt have his 7135 yet (he is waiting on sprint) and he thinks they have changed somethings so he might have to rework the program some.

here is his response to my email to him.

Until I see the SDK or get my own (come on Sprint!), some of these things might be tough to resolve. As far as which browser, it defaults to the Web Clipping interface (that runs PQAs), which may or may not be the same on the 7135 (it's being phased out, but I don't know the time frame). You can go to options and elect to use Blazer, but that's not an option on a stock 7135 of course. I'm as anxious as you are to see these things resolved, but it may not be until I get my own unit to test on.

So I guess we all will just have to wait on Rick and Sprint....

As much as I hate to suggest this...

Rick, start charging for the DA and MC. You'll have the cash in no time. I'll even buy the 1st copy of MC.

There will be a $$ version of MC (Minutes PLUS), but I'm unlikely to ever charge for Directory Assistant due to the fact that too much of whether or not it keeps operating (and how well) depends on someone else (555-1212.com). Given that, I'd hate to put myself on the hook to support paying customers if it comes to pass that the 555-1212 web site ever goes away.

DA Crash

I had DA (Directory Assistant Version 1.42) running on my 7135.

Now it gives me the black screen of death and I have to open the battery cover and do a soft reset

Any Help would be appreciated.

Re: DA Crash

All I can suggest is deleting it and re-installing.

Mine works (V1.42) but I don't use it very often. No crashes though.

I have it, and it works fine for the most part on my 7135. Regarding your lack of a map image, I've got that problem too. I'm thinking of installing Blazer to see if that is a solution to this problem. Regarding the number not dialing, you could highlight the number with the stylus and then press the phone's hard dial button or you could change the DA preferences to "Dialing Type - Directly" then it will dial when you hit 'dial' on the palm screen. Hope this helps.

Rick, all three of your programs are great. Good job.

Thanks! As for the map not showing perhaps it's something about the Web Clipping library not being exactly the same. Trying Blazer is not a bad idea. Just another one of those issues that I'll have to look into when/if I ever get my 7135 (still waiting on the "official" version )

It is a wonderful program and the maps show with Blazer and not DA on my 7135.

One request. Can you easily make separate options to show directions and maps from Blazer? I'd prefer to use DA for the directions (faster) and only go to Blazer when I need maps. This may not be an issue when you get your 7135 and get maps working properly from DA.
