Actually, the EIS browser on the 7135 is the best I have seen. It supports java, forms, cookies, and scaling graphics. I have not seen a comparable browser yet....
I think Blazer 2.0 is the best. It saves bookmarks too when you have to hard reset/sync. EIS does not restore bookmarks and neither do the other browsers that come with the phone.
Do any of these browsers allow one to rotate the screen axis 90 degrees? It would be nice to have a wide view of the sides of a web page. Then maybe one would not have to scroll from side to side or at least not as much. If I had a choice I would prefer scrolling down rather than also having to scroll across the sides. I do not yet own a 7135 to know whether it can even fit to page. Of course that feature probably will make the font too small for most people.
If none of the browsers can change the display orientation then is there a utility that can handle this function? Thank you.

In the case of the 7135, that would be a useless utility. The screen is symmetric (1 13/16" on each side).
After I wrote the question I looked at the photo and measurements again and realized it was a stupid question when referring to the 7135. Although for some other smartphones it still might be a valid question. So I am still curious if this is possible
Bumping this up for reviews of XIINO by new 7135 users.
The EIS browser didn't "wow" me at all. It is incredibly slow and has frozen up (reverse video/warm reset) on me. Maybe others are having better luck. Eudoraweb is pretty good for text sites so I'm glad it is included w/7135. Blazer works rather well but I'm still open to alternative browsers.
EIS does seem slow, but I am just getting used to the phone. Do you advise that we check out Blazer, Beryl? If that is working, why look for alternatives? Are you pleased with Blazer? Any downsides?

HotSync,
From what I have read, I understand that the EIS browser supports javascript. I have not read anything that says it supports Java. Would you mind verifing this for me?
Sorry to be picky, but a PalmOS browser that supports Java would have fantastic implications for me at work.

I like it but I've been using an old version for over a year now that I got for free as a Sprint customer. Now that I'm with Verizon, I need to actually purchase it to get the upgraded version that supports SSL, 128 bit, and java. If I have to spend the $$, I want to get the best browser.
I see no real downsides. It is faster than EIS and I don't remember my system locking up on me.

I haven't gone to any sites that I know are using Java, but the settings on the EIS browser do have an option to turn Java Script on or off, so there is at least some level of support.
Is there a site you would like me to try to see if it would meet your needs?

Thanks alanb, but the setting is for Javascript which is not really related to actual Java other than similar names. Support of one does not imply support for the other. If you are interested, here is a brief description of both.
Javascript is sort of an extention of HTML that allows for some client side web page manipulation.
Java is a cross platform programming language. Java applets are self contained programs that can be run within web pages in Java capable browsers.
The following site has links to a handful of pages containing small java applets for testing.

I am using Xiino and Blazer as my primary web browsers. Each have strong points and weak points. I like how Xiino utilizes Palm resources and it seems to be the fastest, and I like how Blazer formats web pages. EIS locked up on me too many times (the same "reverse video" lock ups that someone else mentioned) and Eudora Web is useless.
I have been lurking around here for a while, but just registered now so I could have a few questions answered.
I researched the FAQ's section, but could not find an answer..
From what I understand it is possible to use a proxyless browser to log on to a company intranet website (with javascript) on the kyocera 7135...... my questions are...
1. Has anyone done this successfully?
2. What browser can you use to do this? (EIS, Eudora Web, etc...)
3. If it is only Eudora Web, then can you only view text and no graphical portions of the website?
Thank you for your help in advance.... if I missed the answer in the FAQ's, then can someone post a link to it...please
