This is a short, but useful FAQ given what I have seen with people using the 7135 and the holster.
The holster is a solid, plastic, open faced device for holding your 7135 smartphone. The mistake I see, is people placing the handset in the holster backwards. The intended design is to have the metallic front, facing in. This will leave the battery door facing out, being the exposed portion of the housing.
The holster also swivels 360 degrees on the belt clip. The swivel is tight, and has a locking point about every 45 degrees giving you eight different points of swivel.
Just curious if the phone can be removed from the holster with one hand or not. On my old Star Tac it was possible and much utilized. On my current V60 it require two hands to remove it, a hassle.
I got my holster today ... no phone yet (I am a Sprinter). Agree that it is a "must-have" accessory.
One question to current owners (grrr) ... when I opened the 7135 box at the Alltel store, there was a holser in the box already. Does one truly come with the phone (and is the one I bought going to be my "handy spare"?).
PS to HotSynch: There is a sticker on the inside of the holster with a line drawing of the phone that says "Phone Faces Inward" in three languages.

I understand the Kyocera 7135 holster has 8 swivel settings. That means I can rotate it 90 degrees so it is parallel to my belt rather than perpindicular. I understand there are locking points.
Question for current users. Will the phone STAY that way all day -and not get knocked into new positions easily? - seems this would make sense since it would minimize the sitting-down problem.

For the most part I've found the phone stays in the position you place it. I like it rotated forward one notch. It is quicker to pull out that way, but I can still see the caller ID. If you turned it all the way on it's side you would not be able to see the caller ID, battery life, or signal strenth.
It does get knocked out of position occasionally, but not very often.

I really like the swivel holster, but I do find that it occassionally gets knocked into a new position. But the phone is so secure in the holster, yet easy to get out, that it is not really a problem. Besides, I find myself mindlessly turning the phone in its holster when I am sitting in long, boring meetings.
Oh, I do that, too. However, if I'm running the meeting I find that keeping track of what is going on in the meeting unfairly distracts me from the game I'm playing and can lower my score. That's why I sometimes have to turn off the game and just play with the holster. Life (and work) can be so unfair.

lol... I do that too as I walk around the building lots of times. But I just click it back and forth to the same two positions... the Treo holster only has 4 positions and does not do a full 360... yet another area in which the 7135 is superior (and the Treo holster was not included!!! But I love my Treo )

I've also used my swivel holster heavily over the past six weeks and have had no problem at all. It's been swiveled for fun and banged around and is still tight and secure (which is more than I can say for myself).
I don't know how I missed this thread. I couldn't believe we had a FAQ on the holster for the 7135 until I read the first post and realized I've been putting my phone in backwards for the past week. I couldn't believe they would place that black clip directly over the Caller ID window! Now I have my phone placed in the correct position and can acutally see who is calling! I'm a technogeek and can't figure out the phone holster without a FAQ!
