Just received my "Kyocera 7135 smartphone is finally here!" e-mail

Hello all,
It's strange... I live in New York City (10469), and I just received an e-mail from Kyo that the 7135 was available in my area. Has anyone else received such a message? It would be :angel2 heavenly if it were true!

I just got my email too, about Alltel being the first service with the 7135 available. Come on Verizon!

Apparently things have changed in the past ten minutes, now on the Kyo getconnected website I can purchase a 7135 w/o plan from Alltel.

Very strange... I put the same zip code in on a different computer, and only one phone came up, under Sprint.. perhaps they're having a database problem over there! Also, the site is really slow... I'll bet they're getting a lot of hits now!

I got my email too. Maybe I did something wrong, but after clicking the link the 7135 wasn't even an option. Time to try again.

Because your've already entered your zip and it remembers....you'll see it in the upper right and that's where you can change it.

Not avail in my area either...sucks...but it's coming

edit: upper right, not left...doh!

Now if we can just find out how much the thing is. The Alltel website doesn't even show the thing yet. I just want to know about how much the 7135 is going to be when a real carrier offers it.

I called the 800#. They said it wasn't available in our area... Northern California. Phone costs $650 with a service plan.

COBRASVT, you are right. After reading some other posts I changed my zip to Scottsdale, AZ and there it was. $649 phone only or $549 with a plan. They had 4 or 5 plans to choose from. Additional $6 / month to use your plan minutes for web access, email, etc...

Alltel doesn't support high speed access. How do you connect to the web or email? Is it dialup? If so I will wait for Verizon.

I didn't get an email yet today, even though I signed up a zillion times. There is definitely Alltel coverage in my town, there's an Alltel store 1 minute from my house. (By the way I went there last night hoping to finally hold a 7135 and they only had a demo and it was locked in some office ).

I got 2!!! 1 for Princeton, NJ 08543 and 1 for Perth Amboy, NJ 08861. However, if I search the store site with either of these zip codes I get no 7135. Back to waiting...

Got my email for Minnesota, but not available here apparently. No biggie, I'm waiting for Verizon anyway.

If the carrier doesn't offer 1x, it will be DIALUP, at 14,400. Verizon is SUPPOSED to be offering 1x, once they get finished testing.
