I know that this has been discussed in a past before, though I don't think that it was ever settled. If I have a car stereo that has a stereo input for mp3 players or other stereo accessories, is there a cable available that would go from a 7135 headset jack into this stereo input and allow for the audio to be transmitted through my car speakers?
Thanks to anyone with info as to where it can purchased or insight as to how to pull a McGyver on an existing cable.
Currently, no. I found one for an Ipaq, but I was told that it probably wouldn't work. There is no official one, someone here in the forum who is very good with these sorts of things (i.e. HoTSynC) will have to initiate this and sell them to us. I would gladly pay handsomely. We really NEED this, so that we can play it in our cars and our stereos at home.
This is REALLY simple to pull off.... All you would have to do is order the OFFICIAL Kyocera stereo earbuds then cut the earbuds off, leaving you with a wire and the connector that goes to the phone. Then do the same with a cheap set of head phones that has the appropriate size stereo adapter on it. Then take the two sets of wire and splice them together in one of many different ways. The way you put them together will be dependant upon your skill level. Soldering the conections and heat shrinking them together would be the highest quality and most reliable. However, something as simple as twisting the wire pairs together and electrical taping them individualy and then together would also work. This should leave you with a 7135 connector on one end and the stereo plug on the other. If you've got the money to burn and the will to do it then i say go for it.. easy easy
Have fun, and of'course post your results

You should be 10% smarter than the equipment you operate. For some of you, the 7135 is not the best choice of equipment.
I'm not gonna risk losing my $39 stereo propriotary earbuds, but if you want to, then go for it. But I am willing to pay good money to someone that does it successfully and cleanly. Thanks.
I have a little bit of info for you guys... The plug that goes into the stereo jack is a 4 conductor plug. I haven't tried to put some regular stereo earbuds in there to see what it does...

You hit it right on the nail, that is exactly what we need. Once I get my phone I'll be building myself one. It's pretty cheap, the whole thing with a 6-10ft cable shouldn't cost more than 5-6 bucks. I could make them, but I don't have the time to make one for everyone, but it's pretty simple.
I don't what inputs your car stereo accepts but if your car stereo accepts stereo RCA inputs, here are a couple of adapters that convert stereo 1/8" stereo adapters to RCA inputs. Then you only need an standard RCA cable to connect them both.
If you car stereo has a cassette deck, you could always go the old fashioned way and get one of those cassette adapters that plugs in the 1/8" jack with the wire attached to a fake cassette which outputs the sounds through your cassette deck. They include them with some portable CD players. Here's one that Sony sells.
Radio Shack sells a lot of adapters. Here is a link to their page of audio adapters.
If I am understanding the situation, none of the standard Radio Shack 2.5mm adapters are going to work correctly. They are either 2 conductor (mono) or 3 conductor (stereo) plugs. Samsung has outfitted the 7135 with a 4 conductor jack which will probably not work with a standard 3 connector (stereo) plug. From what I have read, what will happen is that you will end up only getting mono sound because of the way Samsung wired the 4 connector jack. The fourth conductor must be for the microphone in order to use the headset in hands free mode.
Having written all this, I have not yet heard of anyone proving all this to be true yet. I know the first thing I will do (when I get a 7135) is stick a regular stereo plug into the phone and see what happens.
I want an adapter that I can plug a headphone style plug into. That way I can use it for my car's cassette adaptor as well as other things. Rather than only in the car.

[Hope this helps.
You can't use a 1/8 plug, it only has 3 conductors, left right, ground, the one on the 7135, has left, right, mic, and ground.

How does Kyocera feel about Samsung messing with their phone?
But don't forget the headset has a button on it to answer calls. I'm thinking someone'll need to make a profession out of severing official headsets with adapters past the button.
