Palm "Universal Connector" on 7135

Does the 7135 have the "Universal Palm connector" like the bottom of the m515 and m130 and others have? Navman has a GPS unit that attaches to the bottom through the universal connector....looks great!

Link for GPS:

seriously doubtful. I believe it has a Kyocera connector, not unlike the connector on the 6035.

Any comments from others who are testing one now?

Correct. I am not a beta tester, but all the peripherals I have seen in trades about the 7135 tout direct connector compatibility with it's 6035 predecessor. Never under-estimate the power of 'not invented here,' I suppose. Perhaps Kyo feels that many 6035 customers will upgrade, or that the 7135 is more Kyocera phone than Palm PDA.

I bought the Outside the Box keyboard for my 6035 and Kyocera told me that the keyboard would work with an "adapter".

I looked at the accessories page and saw the keyboard with a VERY short connector between the phone (7135) and the keyboard. I'm sure I can just order the new connector, and software.

I wouldn't call it "not invented here" syndrome.

I'd call it, "Be the only supplier so we can gouge" syndrome. At least Kyo keeps their data cables compatible over their entire line of phones. (Was apparently different back in the old Qualcomm days)
