Hi guys - I'm a beta tester for the 7135 (the second round of beta just started). In the spirit of making the 7135 even better than it already is, I'm willing to submit ONE of your wishlist requests to the beta feedback website. Here's something I'd like you to consider submitting ...

... CURRENTLY, the Phone software has a limit of 30 "voice dial" entries (entries which you can automatically dial just by saying their name). According to Kyocera, that limit of 30 is REGARDLESS of how much memory is available, EITHER internal OR on an SD card.

MY wishlist item would be for Kyocera to rewrite the Phone s/w to LIFT the 30-entry limit, so a user can store those entries on internal or external memory. IOW, you could store A LOT of voice dial entries on a 512 Mb SD card!

I am not sure if Kyo Addresses this, but its not addressed in teh i300.

lets say i want to call Dave, i dunno if dave is at home work or on his cell. I click click and call dave at home. Hmm, not there machine. So i just want go ahead and hit one butten so i can go back and hit the next number on my list i have for someone, OH WAIT, i can't, Dammit.

Could someone put a shortcut in to go back to the person you just tried to call to use an alternate number?



Dunno if the Kyo Folks have already thought of it. it appears Samsung has not.

There is a third party who can develop this, however I think it would be in Kyocera's best interest to include this feature as it competes directly with the NOKIA phones that have lil camera's -I saw a commercial recently that had a person take a picture and then use it as a photo caller ID

T9 or predictive text entry with the number pad. This was origionally supposed to be included but some have said that it won't be included. Is it or isn't it? If not, that is my request!

Yes, that would be awesome... and there is an app out there, and the developer said he plans to make it work with the 7135! but it would be nice if it was an included feature.

I vote for the headset to be included with the phone instead of being an option. It only makes sense since we need it since the headset jack is non-standard.

Man, you guys are making my head spin.... I've gotten over 50 SMS's already today because you guys are burning up the boards! I can't get any work done! I wonder if they can include the ability to optionaly play mp3's WHILE you are on the phone -- incase you want to your caller to hear your tunes or voice memo's

That would be cool... and if you get another call they could hear tunes while you were talking to the other person. I don't think we'll ever see these features though

I know that we have discussed this before, but while we are on the subject of the non-standard plug and the earbuds, obviously we are gonna want to listen to the 7135's Mp3s through more than just their earbuds.

Is someone in the forum who is good with sodering wires, etc. going to offer to take orders for customized cables with RCA plugs on the other end (so we can plug it into the stereo at home or office)? And a cassette adaptor for the car?

I think there would be a lot of people being willing to pay for those. Because so far no one has heard any inside info whatsoever about Kyo making any.

What do you all think?

I understand the voice recorder has a 1 minute limitation as well:

* Can't they have a SD option for longer length voice memo's?

* It would be nice if it saved the memo's in the same mp3 format the mp3 player uses so we could play them in that player and also vice-versa, associate mp3's with memos.

* I would like to be able to attach a voice memo to a email -- if its not possible onboard the 7135- then putting them on a SD (or hotsyncing) to email them via a desktop would be useful as well provided they are in a standard mp3 format and not a pdb which would not work as an attachment through email to a non palm user.

Some prelim/ quickie feedback, and some clarification....

Great ideas from everyone. I totally agree with everyone so far and I have no problem adding those requests.

From a disclaimer perspective (ugh!), I had to sign a very comprehensive NDA (non-disclosure agreement), so I am limited on what I can provide. But, if I feel that you could've figured it out from a trade show's demo unit/ advertisement, I won't hesitate to contribute. The purpose for this post really is to get ideas from everyone on how to improve the phone - something Kyo has requested numerous times from the beta testers.

On with the specifics....

1) If they had told me a timeframe, and I shared it here, they'd have to ____ me.

2) i300 Toggle between palm/ phone - Yes, Yes, Yes (fanfare, please). I too am an i300 user and that has always bugged the #(*$ out of me. You can toggle from phone to Palm and you are viewing EXACTLY the same Palm screen that you last saw.

3) Voice dial entries/ limits - dunno. gotta check. If not, I'll add it.

4) Picture/ Photo ID- I'll add it. Dunno if it's there or not, also dunno if any of the picture id 3rd party apps work on it.

5) Headset - dunno how this thing will ship, but i'll add it.

6) MP3 tunes - dunno. I'll add it if not.

7) Voice memo as MP3 format - great idea. I'll check for it/ add it as needed.

Voice recorder 1 min limit - I'll check and add it as needed.

9) MP3's while on phone - I'll check and add it as needed.

Lastly, sorry for all of the dunno's - I just got this beta and I'm still finding all of the features/ functions (unfortunately, I have other things to do besides play (too much :p ) with the phone)

the ability to use quality phones to listen with and “add” a mic. So I guess I’d say a custome plug with phones in and mic in.
