How about a 1 gig SD card?

Matsu****a (Panasonic) is planning on releasing a 1 Gigabyte SD card next year, with larger cards to follow in 2004-2005.

Wow... that's a lot of space. We could store one full length movie, 8 hours of music, and still have plenty of room left for some ebooks.

I know someone who had access to a tester 1G SD and it worked with his tester 7135. How cool is that!

Ah, I never read the off-topic forums...

As for price, I'd probaby pay $300 for that much space, but if it's much more than that, I'd have a hard time justifying it.

The only problem I'd have with a card that large is....when it goes down, it goes down hard.:mad

Same concept applies while working with digital videos. Its better to get 3 20GB drives that 1 60GB.

"The bigger they are the harder they fall"

"The bigger the better"

Should be easy to make a mirror backup of an sd card to a desktop harddrive. Stick the card in the standalone sd reader, then hit ctrl-alt-b. That's the shortcut I use on my laptop to backup everything in my documents folder (that has the archive bit set) to external usb harddrive via an xcopy command.
