I was in a restaurant in Austin, Texas, and a Kyocera wireless commercial came on TV, highlighting the 7135. Unfortunately, the sound was off, and the commercial didn't have closed captioning. There were several shots of Kyo phones, about 75% of the 7135.

Cool... so maybe it does exist after all?

This is CNet's list of upcoming wireless phones, with the 7135 right on top. Quite intresting how they don't actually list a carrier, just what it's CDMA capibilities are. This was updated as of 12/2/02 - so while it's not the absolute newest, it's pretty recent. Ahh well.. Damn Sprint - release the damn phone!

Ah yes. The red sauce, the green sauce the big circular bar. I go to Trudy's south star as it's much closer to home (near Driftwood). I wonder if I were to open an early adopters bar with tech news on the tube if people would show up.

You could certainly count me in! While I don't mind sports, I'm much more likely to sit around and drink at a bar if they're playing Tech TV. Besides, my fiancee and her roomate (both of whom think gadgets are "okay"), have watched Tech TV with me, and gasped and said "That is so cool!" to various gidgets.
Now that's a good idea... can you imagine if one were in Silicon Valley, Silicon Alley, near MIT, etc?

They reviewed the 7135 against the Treo 300, Samsung A500, T-Mobile Sidekick, and Toshiba E740. The angle of the article was wireless web and not necessarily smart phones. I think many of the people in this forum could have written a much better review, as the 7135 finished poorly in comparisn to some of the others. They completely missed some of the other pluses like the SD slot, mp3 player, availability of many Palm O/S apps...etc
Does anyone know if AT&T currently offers 3G access???
Seems to me the whole article is lacking in serious credibility.
Obviously the CDMA 7135 wasn't used on AT&T's TDMA/GSM network...Now if there is a GSM 7135 in the works that get's released before the CDMA version...well...I think that would be the last straw ...I find it highly unlikely..
Also the "review" of all those phones lacks in any sort of supporting evidence...He makes comments yet doesn't say why the phone didn't meet their "standards"....
It's all BS...
As for the AT&T being 3G- They are in certain markets. They're still split between TDMA & GSM. In the markets where GSM is being offered they do have the GPRS service which is commonly considered a "3G" network..

I'm sure everyone has seen this already, but just in case... The 7135 is on the cover of the Dec issue of Computer Shopper (along with a billion other gadgets, but hey, it's there!) There is also a generally positive review inside (p. 33, I think...)
I too saw it. I bought it for that very reason. The review (p.33) was so positive and completely flawless, that I am now wondering if it is actually an indepth ad. But it must be a review.
