OK - I' dont have a 6035 or Eurdora -- whats the deal with the advertising? DO you mean to tell me Eurdora wastes mins/KB's on your palmphone with Ads?

Sorry for confusion, no adds on palmphone (no palmphone; I use a LG510 and a Palm IIIc, but lust for convergence). My desktop email program is Eudora in "sponsored" mode; which means the program is free, but ads pop up on the side. And, as I said, the Kyocera ad is in really heavy rotation. A clear human rights violation (I alerted Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and Greenpeace, but they just muttered "crazy Kyocera geek" and hung up on me.)

Glad you like my avatar- Its my vision of the 7135, the Super-cera! From what i've read, I gather you agree.
lol... I knew what you meant... I was just messing with you

"Super-cera".... I like that, and I am definitely psyched about the 7135! :drink1

If your source is reliable, this is really a bummer. In this business, timing is everything. If Kyocera misses the holiday season their entry is likely going to be "too little too late".
If this is true. some heads at Kyocera need to roll.

Yeah, really. The 7135 was announced officially in June, was in production for a while before that, and they can't get it out this year? I don't get that. I'm still hopefully for late October, early November though. That time period just seems to make the most sense. :smash

I imagine once they finally release it, we're gonna be able to use a S/N decoder to find out exactly when each of our phones was manufactured, if it doesn't say it. And then having evidence of this horrendouslly cruel treatment, for such an extended period of time, the authorities will take action against kyo, we will file a class actio9n lawsuit, demanding that we get reimbursed for the cost of our phones, and forcing them to make us all beta testers for their next super phone release (which was discussed in another thread, thanks to the time machine) .

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

May 1, 2003

AP Newswire

Washington, D.C.

Today marks the conclution of the landmark class action lawsuit against Kyocera wireless corp, with a decision by the US district court in favor of the affected persons, who refer to themselves as the SmartPhone Source geeks.

The judge decided that the geeks should receive a refund of the purchase price for their Kyocera 7135 smartphones, plus an undisclosed amount to compensate for the cruel and unhuman treatment they suffered during ther long months the geeks had to wait for release of this amazing device, which was supposed to have been released in October 2002, and was actually just released 2 weeks ago.

The judge also decided that Kyocera's exclusivity contract with Verizon Wireless is unconstitutional, as it discriminates against part of the geeks, who obtain their cell phone service through sprintPCS. This actually sets a very important precedent for future product launchings.

The final decision by the judge was that all of the "geeks" had to be accepted into Kyocera's beta testing program for all future Smart Phone releases.

Robert K. the spokesperson for the "Geeks" told AP "We are very happy with the judge's decision. We knew all along that we would be succesful in our endeavour" When asked about the exact amount that was awarded for compensation, Robert K. responded " I'm not at liberty to discuss that matter at this moment, but I can say that SmartPhoneSource.com, will have new servers, and a T3, to ease traffic and congestion problems.

In a brief statement by Kyocera's attorney, he stated "Kyocera is actually satisfied with the outcome of this case, the delay in release wasn't our fault, we depended on a transceiver which is supplied by a third party, and they had production problems, furthermore, Kyocera has now become the cell phone manufacturer ith the most rigorous Quality Assurance Team.

SmartPhoneSource.com, Inc. is the leading provider of Palm based smart phones

Kyocera Wireless is one of the leading providers of cellular phones in the US

LOL....lets see October 20002. That's exactly 18,000 years from now. Do you think Kyocera might make that deadline? If the current 7135 release rumors are any indication, it is uncertain in my mind...

Wow Dave... you are bummed! I feel bad for you.... I went through this with the pdQ (delayed for almost 10 months!). There is a light at the end of the tunnel. There is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. We WILL have our 7135's THIS YEAR! Keep the faith :drink1

I have been contacting my local Verizon dealer (almost daily) and the information varies depending on who you get on the phone. Most of the answers I have received have been of no help. Yesterday, I somehow got connected to the Inventory Manager. This is the guys who receives and logs in all inbound product for stock. By offering a simple lunch, I will receive a phone call the minute these things hit the door. He is says he heard November 1st. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I wouldn't worry about it, as long as they stock at least two units, you & I should get ours. No one else seems to know what the H*** I am talking about. Tony10
