7135 Hands-Free Car Kit TXCKT10013

Anyone have any experience with this unit?

How well does it work? Can you relocate the Mic to a different location?

I use it and like it. The mic is a problem as you have to buy an extension to re-route the mic. I did find that the mic as it is was not good in my truck, but once I moved it up to a new location, it is great. A side note, I beta tested a different Kyocera phone which has the same HFK...and it includes an extension for the mic!

I had a hard time finding an extension (2.5 mm) although several people posted they had them at radio shack. I finally bought a cable and had someone solder a connector for me.

Also, run a search here or at smartphonesource.com. Someone posted that a different mic made a noticable improvement to the sound, although I haven't had any complaints about mine.

What harley said.

It is a really nice unit. A little big, perhaps. But it works great. Loud speaker. People can understand me. I have the Radio Shack extension cord for the mic. Don't know the SKU, though, since it came included in an eBay used-7135 package deal.

Or, I believe, you can use the 7135's phone headset or stereo headset plugged into the phone instead of the HFK mic. I haven't tried it, so please seek a more definitive answer from someone else before making a decision based on that use of the headsets.
